Burn So Bad

Levi drives me crazy, and not the good kind of crazy.
He’s smoldering hot and so d*mn sexy, it’s dangerous.
He’s a hotshot firefighter and nearly sets me on fire whenever he’s around.
Perhaps it’s an occupational hazard.
He teases me every chance he gets and tempts me to let down my guard.
I certainly don’t need a man.
But Levi’s more than a man. He’s a man on octane fuel—pure, raw, primal masculinity practically oozes from his pores.
One night of weakness, and I tumble into the flames.
It’s more than lust. It’s how I feel when I’m with him—safe and protected. I never want to let go.
I might get burned if I’m not careful.

Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and hate can always turn into love.
Or at least lust.
Lucy hates me. She especially hates how much I want her.
And sweet h*ll do I want her.
But she can’t be bothered to even give me the time of day.
I should give up the chase, but I can’t.
It’s more than a spark between us, it’s a bonfire.
Fate rolls the dice and lands Lucy right where I want her.
She needs my help, and I need her, every inch of her lush curves.
One taste, and I’m lost. I’ll do anything to have her and to hold her.
To make her mine.

*This is a steamy, full-length standalone romance with a guaranteed happily-ever-after. No cliffhangers. Nothing but steamy romance & HEA!

My Review:

Welcome to my stop on the release tour for the latest by J.H. Croix, Burn So Bad. Book 3 in the Into the Fire Series is about sexy, irresistible, charming, delicious Levi and the beautiful, guarded tom-boyish Lucy. Ever since Lucy moved to their small, Alaskan town Levi has wanted her, but she has always given him the brush off. Little does he know, however, that Lucy has always found him crazy sexy also, but she won’t allow anyone to get close enough to break her heart. But what happens when Lucy finds herself being rescued by this hotshot firefighter and she’s struggling to resist his charms?

Burn So Bad was absolutely an addictive and entertaining novel, however, if for no other reason – read this one because of Levi. Oh my goodness this man is perfection. He’s insanely handsome, sexy, sweet, intelligent, good friends and family, a firefighter in the Alaskan wilderness… Need I say more?

Lucy was also a very different and refreshing lead female character. Although gorgeous and petite, she is also a part-owner of a construction company and is a fantastic and sought-after builder in their area. I’m talking swinging hammers, cutting lumber, climbing scaffolding- all of it. She also experienced a heart-breaking and difficult upbringing with no exposure to healthy and happy relationships and family bonds.

Not only is Burn So Bad full of steamy chemistry between Levi and Lucy, the author sheds light on the effects that an abusive childhood has on adult relationships. Lucy wrestles with her own ghosts and demons as Levi tries to navigate how to give her space and keep his true feelings at bay.

Burn So Bad is full of real-life problems, romance, family, friendship, and learning how to love and trust others. This was a fantastic novel and I cannot wait to read more in this series! I have yet to read a novel by J.H. Croix that wasn’t fabulous, but this one will stick with me for awhile!
