Renegade (Moonshine Task Force Book 1), by Laramie Brisco
About the book:
Ryan “Renegade” Kepler
I’m the type of man who knows what I want. I make up my mind and stay in my lane, never veering off the course I set for myself.
Going into the military? Did it. Youngest member of the Moonshine Task Force? That’s me. Get my best friend’s older sister in bed? It was my pleasure.
Age means nothing to me. I’ve seen and done things men twice my age never will. What I want more than anything is someone to share my life with and that person is my best friend’s older sister, Whitney.
Whitney Trumbolt
Ryan is ten years my junior, but damn, being a cougar never felt as good as it did the night we spent together. Now I’m struggling with wanting things to either go back to the way they were or spend every night in his arms.
Make my wedding planning company the best in the south? Did it. Ignore the way my body trembles when I see Ryan? Epic fail. Freak out when I see a positive pregnancy test staring back at me? Complete with mascara running down my face and clutching my pearls.
Looks like things won’t go back to the way they were. There’s a man in my life that doesn’t take no for an answer. He’s the one who makes my blood run hot, cheeks turn red, and heartbeat wildly within my chest. His name is Renegade.
My Review:
Shamefully, I must admit that this is my first time reading Laramie Briscoe, but readers beware – you will see many more reviews of her novels in the future!
I absolutely loved this story of Ryan (Renegade) and Whitney because it was realistic, different, romantic, and full of obstacles to be overcome. Ryan is best friends with Whitney’s brother Trevor (Tank), is ten years her junior, and has been dreaming about her for years. Whitney is newly divorced from a bad marriage and wants to let loose for once, as well as, be with a man who can show her what she’s been missing. But when these two get together and ends in a positive pregnancy test, can they overcome the age difference and other obstacles against them?
Ooooh Ryan, so hot, romantic, sensitive, caring, sexy, and so on. He definitely has wiggled his way to a top spot as far as my favorite book boyfriends. This man came from a horrible home life, was in the military, is now a cop, and is incredibly sexy and romantic! Whitney has lived a more prim and proper life, having a great family and great career, but went through a horrible marriage. The way these two awaken one another and bring out the best in one another is absolutely fantastic. Prepare to feel the sparks flying off the page because their chemistry, her vulnerability, and Ryan’s sensitivity will knock your socks off.
Of course, Renegade is full of conflict whether emotional or from outside forces, but I assure you that you will cheer for this couple from beginning to end. I cannot wait to read the next installment about Whitney’s brother and Ryan’s best friend, Tank.
