My Review:
Reckless Review
Lately, I feel like all I do is praise my new book boyfriends. I admit it, it’s probably becoming a problem. But now, for something completely different – let me introduce you to my favorite female character of all time!!! And that would be the inappropriate, hilarious, “not always so successful” Tori! Even if you aren’t in the mood for romance, drama, family issues, suspense, and so on, everyone needs to read Reckless just to experience this character.
Why do I love her?
- Beautiful
- Kind-hearted
- Wonderful with children
- No filter
- Sarcastic as hell
- Great cook
- VERY real!
But enough about Tori… Then there is the lead male character Ethan. Oh holy yumminess this man runs a horse farm, is raising his 2 small children alone, bitter, jaded, but incredibly hot/built/tatted/romantic/alpha and so on. Then there is adorable inappropriate player of a brother Logan – who I am praying will be the star of Lex Martin’s next novel – who is equal parts sexiness and sweetheart all at once.
In addition to the incredible main characters are plenty of other fabulous characters, as well as, a few complete villians that just added to the addictive quality of this novel – such as, Allison, Dylan, etc.
On a more serious note, Reckless encompasses all that I love in a great novel. There were realistic and serious issues, laugh out loud moments, suspense, conflict, romance, and chemistry. From beginning to end, I cannot think of one critical comment regarding this novel and/or Lex Martin’s talent as a writer. Personally I love to find that balance of romance and realism, which is what Reckless was for me. There are no billionaires stepping in to control and/or bankroll every little thing. There are no promiscuous women debating whether or not to submit to a man. This one was just a great story about love, facing our past, and embracing the future.
Add Reckless to the top of your TBR, it was absolutely amazing.
angst, a whole lotta kissing, and the hot happily ever afters. When
she’s not writing, she lives a parallel life as an English teacher.
She loves printing black and white photos, listening to music on vinyl,
and getting lost in a great book. Bitten by wanderlust, she’s lived all
over the country but currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and twin
daughters.
