My Review:
I always love any of the Bad Boys After Dark novels, but I am so excited for my stop on the tour for Brett’s story! Melissa Foster has once again created an addictive, sexy, romantic story and this time it was about the youngest of the Bad brothers, Brett. The hot, sexy, commitment-phobe has been flirting with his brother’s legal assistant Sophie forever. After being shot down every time, Sophie finally accepts an invitation to hang out with Brett having no expectations. However, they quickly begin learning more about one another and that they can’t get enough of the time they spend together.
Ladies – prepare yourselves and your heart for Brett Bad! Brett is sexy, smart, caring, and funny. However, is also closed off, angry, regretful, and fearful after the death of his sister and the demise of his parents’ marriage. Brett doesn’t just explore the idea of romantic love in this novel, but also learns about letting go of anger and guilt in order to build a stronger and happier future.
Sophie is a fantastic character that is smart, beautiful, endearing with a huge heart. This country girl turned city girl truly opens Brett’s eyes to the possibility of commitment, as well as, shows him how close and happy a family can be. I love that she took such a huge leap of faith in this novel, followed her heart, and exuded joy wherever she went.
This installment in the series also boasts incredibly developed and charming secondary characters, especially Sophie’s sister, her Nana, and her Poppi. The entire family just left me feeling warm and fuzzy as if the book was giving me a huge hug!
Melissa Foster continues to amaze me with her unending creativity and desire to share stories of family, friends, and love. This fabulous author not only spins wonderful tales of romance, but creates stories enriched with timeless themes involving the inner workings of family, friends, career, the past, and the future.
