Crank (The Gibson Boys Book 1), by Adriana Locke
Umbrella Publishing Inc. (November 8, 2017)
About the Book: This is one mistake Sienna Landry can’t buy her way out of.
As Walker Gibson looks at her, then at the damage to his precious truck (that she may or may not have accidentally inflicted), she knows she’s in trouble. It’s not the busted headlight and dented grill that’s sunk her though. It’s the downright sinful man in front of her that’s the problem.
The small town mechanic is broody. Rough. Smells like engine grease and gasoline and Sienna isn’t sure why that’s so sexy, but it is. It so is. She’s ready to peel off her panties at the drop of his wrench.
He wants her too. She can feel it when he brushes against her. Experience it as he presses her against the wall of the shop. It’s thinly veiled in his deep, brown eyes when he looks at her like she’s everything he’s ever wanted. So why won’t he give in?
The damage to Walker’s truck is the first of many mistakes between the two of them, ending with truths that rock Sienna’s world. Nothing can fix her broken heart except the love of a man that won’t, maybe even can’t, love her back.
My Review:
I’m not sure where to begin, but Crank is an absolutely fabulous romantic comedy by Adriana Locke. Set in a small town in Illinois, Walker Gibson runs the town auto repair shop, Crank. One night at his brother’s bar, he finds the beautiful Sienna and her friend outside after Sienna just accidentally took a baseball bat to his truck. Luckily for both of them, she decides to work off her debt at his shop, leading to them quickly finding themselves head over heels for each other.
Before I start gushing about how in love I am with Walker, I will admit that he had some issues from his past causing him to make quite a few mistakes throughout this novel. Nevertheless, I have never been so in love with a book boyfriend! Walker is absolutely incredible. Sexy, caring, devoted to family – there just aren’t enough words. On the other hand, I loved Sienna Just as much as I did Walker. She’s beautiful, smart, caring, a great friend, etc. But what I loved the most was that she stands up for herself and what she believes, while also stopping to take the time to hear a person out and get an understanding of the situation before jumping to big, life-changing decisions.
Walker and Sienna were the main characters of this fantastic novel, however, Locke packed this one full of amazing secondary characters such as Nana and Peck. Not only was this one a great romance, but was filled with tons of love and laughter involving all of Walker’s friends and family. Despite my piled up TBR, my next read is definitely Craft, the second in the Gibson Boys series about Walker’s brother, Lance. I love this author and once again she has created an amazing series!
