Dance for Me, by J.C. Valentine
Publisher: J.C. Valentine; 2 edition (April 7, 2015)
About the book: What if the person who stole your heart wasn’t who you thought they were?
When my parents passed away, I grew up fast. Learning to stand on my own two feet has been a challenge, but I’m making it… my way. I make no apologies for the path I’ve chosen. My choices have served me well, but no one knows the real me.
Except for one man.
He’s a mystery to me. He’s controlling, demanding, and he has me wrapped around his little finger. Anything he wants, I’ll give it to him. The hours we share together aren’t about love. It’s just sex. Hot, dirty, passionate sex. It was never supposed to be anything more than that.
Until everything changed.
Now, I’m more confused than ever. The more I learn about him, the less I seem to understand. What I do know is that I’m falling, and I have the feeling when I land, it’s going to hurt.
My Review:
Dance for Me is the first of four novels in J.C. Valentine’s Forbidden series, and this is going to be a tricky review because I cannot give any spoilers! This novel is about a college student named Josephine (Joe) that has had a challenging life but is going to school and working as a stripper to make ends meet. Frequently while dancing, Joe is watched and adored by a mysterious, sexy stranger who sits in the corner of the club. When she finally meets him, she is shocked but remains confident as their relationship evolves into a passionate roller-coaster ride. However – that is all I can say about the plot!
I will be posting reviews for all four novels in this series, however, this one is going to be short and sweet. This is a cliffhanger, which often frustrates me, but this is one is worth it. J.C. Valentine set this one up where just when you think there could be a HEA ending, she hits you with a huge, surprise twist that I didn’t see coming at all! Initially, I wasn’t sure how I felt about the twist, but as I continued with the next novel, it was completely worth it. This novel has emotions and passion, suspense and wonder, and then hits you with a complete “wow’ moment.
Love her writing, love all of her novels, and love all of her characters. I continue to be such a huge fan of this talented author and highly recommend Dance for Me, as well as, the rest of the series!
*Thanks to Indie Sage PR for the opportunity to read and review this novel in exchange for my honest opinion.
