My Review:
I’m so excited for my stop on the release tour for B. Cranford’s newest novel, About Time! Unfortunately, I had not heard of this amazing author before, but I am now a lifelong, devoted, diehard fan!
Ashton met Duncan through her older brother Aaron, during a heartbreaking time when she and her brothers’ relationship with their parents was basically ending. The first time Duncan spoke to Ashton, he called her “Kitten,” and the rest is pretty much history. After fifteen years, Ashton and Duncan still think about each other, wondering “what if…” However, a lot has changed with Ashton and once Duncan returns, what will happen?
Oh my gosh, what can I possibly say to explain how much I love Duncan? I mean that I truly fell head over heels for this adorable, sexy, wonderful, funny, cute, caring (and so on) man! But seriously, I absolutely adored Duncan, as well as, all of the characters. The banter and dialogue between him, Ashton, Aaron, Simon, and Austin is priceless. They’re funny, but know when to be serious and truly demonstrate how important they all are to one another.
As far as Ashton, I’m still sort of torn regarding my feelings for her. Yes, I liked her and especially loved her sense of humor. However, without giving spoilers, there is a certain turning point that occurs in the novel and I feel that she is way too hard on Duncan and his protective nature. I personally didn’t feel she needed to be so harsh, but overall she was likable.
My favorite thing about this novel is the theme of creating our own family and tossing out any old-fashioned rules about what love is and looks like. A baby doesn’t have to be genetically linked to someone in order to be their child. A marriage doesn’t have to be between only men and women. A family doesn’t have to be genetically linked parents and siblings.
Another thing that is so special about this novel is the concept of love over the years and love only growing instead of fading away. Even love that may have never been declared or acted upon, is still amazing, and About Time captured this perfectly. B. Cranford has created a sensational, funny, romantic, and sexy novel about a hilarious and tight-knit group of friends and family. This is a must-read.
breadsticks and bed, and the mother of two children who are far too similar to
their father for her liking. A lifelong reader, she dove into the romance genre
on the recommendation of her best friend and hasn’t looked back since. Her
debut novel, The Brightest Star, a second chance romance with (she
hopes) heart and humor was released on July 13, 2017, which just so happened to
be her birthday. Because if you release a book on your birthday, you get twice
as much cake, and that can only be a good thing.
