My Review:
Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Eva Charles’ Unforgettable, book 4 in the New American Royals series. This was my first time reading a novel from this series and my first time reading Eva Charles, but wow – I am definitely a fan now!
Gabe and Helena have this magnetic chemistry and connection in this novel, and despite his occasional arrogance, I was in love with Gabe from the beginning. Those feelings did drastically change, but luckily his redeemed himself with me by the end. I liked Helena, her character was strong, beautiful, and loving – but something about her didn’t grab me like Gabe did. Not sure why she just didn’t “wow” me.
This story is a combination of funny, sexy, happy, sad, devastating, frustrating, and incredible. Why do I list all of these adjectives? Because, Unforgettable takes you on a fabulous, yet horrible journey and Eva Charles’ writing ensures that you feel all the feels whether high or low. As stated in the blurb, this novel does deal with the death of a child, so have ample Kleenex on hand, it was brutal. However, it was handled so sensitively and beautifully. I did not read the part of the blurb about the death of a child prior to reading this novel so I didn’t see it coming at all, but it was purposeful and just added to the incredible qualities of this novel.
Unforgettable is a tear-jerker, but also fun and romantic and definitely a fantastic read. I am now a huge fan of this author and cannot wait to read more of her wonderful writing!
