My Review

I am so excited to be a part of the tour for the latest in Addison Cole’s Sweet with Heat series, Whispers at Seaside. This installment centers around Matt Lacroux and the lovely Mira Savage, that works for Matt’s father at the hardware store. After meeting the year before, Matt and Mira became friends and kept in touch while she was in Wellfleet with her son Hagen, and while Matt was working as a professor at Princeton. When Matt decides to take a much-needed sabbatical for the summer, he heads home to work on a book that he has been contracted for – and especially to see Mira.

I have to admit that I didn’t just immediately get sucked into this one right from the start, honestly because I was struggling to recall Matt and Mira from previous books in this series. With that being said, once I figured out who was who, it took no time at all to become completely engrossed in Matt, Mira, and Hagen.

I loved and respected Mira as a single, hard-working mother – especially the way she put Hagen above all else, constantly concerned with his feelings as her and Matt’s friendship started to evolve. But on that same note, I loved how she slowly began thinking of herself also, realizing that she could be a mother and have someone special in her life. Mira’s character was smart, funny, beautiful, caring, but along with that, she was also modest. Matt definitely had an odd, dorky side, but overall, he was just completely sweet, sexy, and irresistible.

Although I loved Matt and Mira, I have to say that little Hagen stole the show in this one. The bright, funny, creative, and intuitive young boy created by Addison Cole was just too adorable for words. I loved his perspective and honestly, as well as, his huge heart. His relationship with Matt, Neil, and the rest of the guys just made him that much cuter!

Once again, Addison Cole has created such a romantic and heart-warming story that still had just enough steamy moments to keep things sexy. Matt and Mira’s story is a beautiful portrayal of love, taking chances, making changes, and the wonderful gift of friends that turn into family. The love in this series just continues to grow and Cole continues to make my heart smile with her creative, romantic, and hilarious tales set in Wellfleet. I know this series will eventually end, but hopefully no time in the near future!
