**My Review**
Oh, my goodness, I love books about young loves and first loves! Even better is when there are very relatable horrors and obstacles that occur, yet they try to move past them. This incredible novel is about the beautiful redhead Wyatt and sexy musician Flynn. After ten years apart, Flynn suddenly reappears in Wyatt’s life. But with his reappearance comes reminders of what they lost, of what they did to one another, and all the angst of the paparazzi attached to Flynn’s rockstar status. This 4th novel in Amali Rose’s Fleurs d’Amour series is a beautiful example of what a wonderful writer she is, as well as, what an incredible series this is.
And I have to mention, have you noticed how beautiful the cover is (as are the rest in the series)?
Both main characters in this novel were interesting, unique, passionate, and living with an unimaginable hurt from their past. I loved how despite the tragedy they suffered, they were both still so creative, intelligent, and when they wanted to be – very funny and playful. I did find it interesting how they went from zero to sixty as far as rekindling their relationship, having no contact for ten years and then falling hard for one another again. However, it just proved that they were meant to be and that some loves are so wonderful they can survive just about anything.
Typical of Rose’s books, the secondary characters, such as Cassidy and Skye, were fantastic and added so many hilarious moments to the novel. There were plenty of sweet and sappy moments also, but Cassidy and her quest to curse without actually using curse words is so much fun and so realistic for anyone that’s ever had little listeners around.
There’s a definite twist in the last third of this novel that I did not expect, and I was pleasantly surprised once the resolution was revealed. I’m not sure how to summarize this without giving too many details regarding the plot, but this book is about love, loss, and moving forward without ever really letting go of what’s in your heart. This book made me laugh, cry, get frustrated, and almost cheer out loud several times while reading and it left me with such a warm, fuzzy feeling in my heart.
If you haven’t yet read any of the Fleur’s d’Amour novels yet, you are truly missing out on the beautiful writing of Amali Rose, getting lost in her characters, and falling in love with their stories. I highly recommend this one! You don’t have to start at the beginning of the series because each is a stand-alone, but why not enjoy them all?
