**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Addison Cole’s Sweet Escape at Bayside! I have to start by mentioning the amazing, beautiful cover that seems to perfectly capture Violet. Love it. 

Anyway, this is the “sweeter” version of Violet and Andre’s story Bayside Escape, by Melissa Foster, and I was so excited to finally get Violet’s story! We first met Violet when Desiree and Rick met in Bayside Desires and I have loved her character since the beginning. This time, the day of Desiree and Rick’s wedding has arrived and they plan to be gone a while for their honeymoon. Initially thinking that their mother, Lizza, isn’t going to show up, she eventually walks in with a much-younger man as her plus one and he just happens to be Violet’s one true love – Andre. After meeting and falling in love in Ghana, Violet left abruptly thinking she could never fit into Andre’s life as a physician in Boston, but she quickly learns that not only was she wrong, Andre has made major changes in his life that has her wondering if just maybe it could work.

Violet is such an amazing character! With her dark hair, head-to-toe tats, surprising commentary, and her motorcycle she seems so tough and almost harsh at times.  She tells it like it is, showing little emotion, even when in the company of those she feels closest to. Yet, beneath that tough exterior lies a woman with an enormous heart that volunteers with sick children and would truly do anything for anyone. 

I have to admit that I struggled with Andre at first, simply because of how he appeared in the story. However, once all was clarified regarding how he ended up there and how he truly felt about Violet, I became putty in his hands. 

A lot of this story revolves about Violet’s severe need for privacy and how she keeps so much of her life to herself. Part of it deals with her not wanting thanks or a pat on the back for good deeds done, but another part was in regards to her separate groups of friends. Being someone that has always been friends with a huge variety of people, I wasn’t clear on why it was such an issue to keep things separate. However, it was obvious that she felt tremendous relief and contentment once everyone knew about everything else. 

Sweet Escape at Bayside is full of emotion, love, giving without expectations, and the true meaning of friends and family. This was an incredible second-chance romance and as always, Addison Cole has blown me away with one of her books. I highly recommend this one!
