**My Review**
Welcome to my stop on the release blitz for Mila Hart’s No Strings, part of the Blue Collar Collection! This debut is by a writing duo combined into the name Mila Hart and it’s seamless with no indication of being the brainchild of two separate authors.
The novel starts with two people, Brayleigh and Carter, both who have zero interest in commitment, having a hot, one-night hook up. But later, thanks to fate and an unattended candle, Carter and Brayleigh find themselves together again. However, as the heat continues to build between this unlikely couple, so does tension surrounding the issue of whether they want to commit to one person, or continue living life with no strings attached.
I was a huge fan of Carter in this novel, although he did frustrate me from time to time. I wasn’t sure about Brayleigh initially but ended up pleasantly surprised by her substance and character. I appreciate the way she is written and developed allowing the reader to watch Brayleigh grow from a spoiled socialite to someone that seems real and truly compassionate. Even better is watching Carter transition from a one-night-only guy to someone with incredible emotion and passion.
No Strings is filled with plenty of hot and steamy scenes, as well as, great banter between the main characters and their friends. But…
The problem? There just didn’t seem to be any real conflict.
Brayleigh seemed to go from zero to sixty concerning her emotions and feelings regarding Carter and relationships in general. Carter certainly had some internal conflict about commitment, primarily stemming from his profession and the risks. But otherwise, everything was just fine. Don’t get me wrong, I love a HEA as much as the next girl, I just wish there would have been a few more twists and turns in Brayleigh and Carter’s story. I think I needed more plot development to reel me in, fill me with anticipation and excitement, and hope for everything to work out between them…
No Strings is a super quick, steamy, and romantic debut from Mila Hart. I can easily recommend this to fans of light and easy romance novels that don’t want any life-changing themes interwoven in the story. I look forward to what this duo has planned in the continuation of the Blue Collar Collection.
