Book Tour, Review, & Giveaway: This is Love (Harmony Pointe, Book 2), by Melissa Foster

Fall in love in Harmony Pointe, where hearts are lost, found, and sometimes misplaced…and everyone get a happy ever after.

If a woman can’t find love in the quaint town of Harmony Pointe, it’s sure to find them—whether they’re looking for it or not. Here, the remaining single Dalton siblings are about to discover that they’re next in line to get swept away by love. A sweet and sexy spin-off of Melissa’s beloved Sugar Lake series.

Actress Remi Divine is sick of bodyguards, sick of stalkers, and sick of feeling like she is always under a microscope. But this movie star isn’t helpless by any means. She’s got a rebellious streak and she knows how to use it. First order of business: Getting rid of the overbearing bodyguards who are sticking to her like glue.

Mason Swift has made protecting others his life, and when Remi ditches his two best men, he takes over and gives it everything he has. Having grown up in the foster care system, and as an ex-special operative, he knows all the tricks. Nothing gets by him, especially not gorgeous, sneaky, and rebellious, Remi.

He thinks she’s a diva. She thinks he’s arrogant. But when sparks turn to flames and their walls come down, their hearts are revealed and their connection is unstoppable. But when tragedy strikes, Remi realizes that being protected isn’t the worst thing in the world—but losing Mason just might be.

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the tour for Melissa Foster’s latest, This is Love! This exciting and suspenseful romance is a bit different from Melissa Foster’s usual happily-ever-after love stories, but it is so good! Actress Remi Divine is at her wit’s end with the bodyguards hired by her brother due to a stalker situation. Mason Swift steps in as Remi’s bodyguard when she keeps slipping away from his two best men assigned to the job. Although it is insta-lust for each of them, things start off a bit bumpy as Remi tries to get used to Mason’s rules and Mason must adjust to being so attracted to one of his clients. Things quickly heat up between them, but it’s so much more than that. Feelings keep getting stronger, but Mason still must deal with whoever is threatening Remi and keep her safe.

I loved this book and I’m embarrassed to admit the obscene number of tears I shed during the last 10% or so, so we won’t talk about that. But – and I hate to say this because I love Melissa Foster more than my beloved red wine – a good amount of this novel reminded me of The Bodyguard. Don’t get me wrong, it was a great movie and this book was so much better – but it all felt a little Whitney and Kevinish to me for a while.

bodyguard meme

If you’re confused about that meme, read this book – you will get it.

However, as the novel progressed, I realized This is Love far surpasses The Bodyguard and in no time at all, I had completely forgotten about Whitney and Kevin (Rachel and Frank, whatever).

This novel is about absolute, no-holds-barred soulmates. People that were just waiting to find one another, yet never knew what exactly they were missing. The passion, connection, love, and chemistry between Remi and Mason is completely off the charts. They instantly feel like a couple when they’ve only just met, and I assure you that your heart will go wild as you read their story.

But even better, this funny, romantic, and emotional romance also shines a light on such a huge issue in society, which is children in the foster system. My father was raised in foster care and during my years as a special education teacher, I always had several children each year that were part of the foster care system. In this novel, Mason shares some of his hardships in the foster care system which are heartbreaking. But keep in mind that this was written this year and the character is thirty-four years old. My father entered the foster care system in 1952 in Baltimore, MD. The stories I could share would bring you to your knees, but they are irrelevant because he found his forever family eventually and none of the other yucky stuff matters anymore. But Mason and Remi’s idea about the birthday boxes has all kinds of wheels churning in my brain about all the things that I could go without, and instead, set aside something for those in foster care. So, thank you to Melissa Foster for reminding me about this important issue at a time when I needed it.

Back to my original purpose, as always with Melissa Foster’s novels, I highly recommend This is Love. It’s a different type of story than what you are used to with Foster, but it will give you all the feels, leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy, and quite truthfully – make you think about the things that really matter in your life, such as love, friendship, and giving back.

Call Her Mine (Harmony Pointe Book 1)
Ben Dalton has always been honest, except where his heart is concerned. He’s been in love with his best friend—saucy, smart-mouthed Aurelia Stark—forever. But Ben’s a planner, and timing has never been on his side. When he finally decides to make his move, Aurelia beats him to the punch with a move of her own—to a different town.

Aurelia loves her new life in the charming town of Harmony Pointe. She has a great apartment and her very own bookstore, and best of all, the sinfully hot, commitment-phobic friend she’s crushed on for years is no longer just around the corner. Maybe she’ll finally be able to leave her unrequited love behind and move on.

But when a baby is left on Ben’s front porch—a baby that is presumably his—Aurelia is there for him. Neither one knows the first thing about babies, but how hard can it be? Ben and Aurelia are catapulted into a world of love, laughter, and tracking down the baby mama, and it might even add up to a very happily ever after . . . just not one either of them expects.
