Welcome to my stop on the release blitz tour for LK Farlow’s, Rebel Desire! I’m not sure I would classify this as an enemies to lovers story because Ashley never really considered Colton an enemy, but this is definitely a love story about two people that do not get along and initially, have very little common ground.
Ashley and Colton meet when Ashley is the wedding photographer at Colton’s best friend’s wedding, and they do not hit it off. Later she comes to Colton for help and for a long time, he refuses. But when the tables are turned and he suddenly needs help, of course Ashley is there for him. That right there almost made me stop reading because he was so awful. And I am so glad I continued on. I eventually fell head over heels for Colton and by the end of the novel I had determined that he was the closest thing to perfect I’d ever come across. Swoon…
Anyway, Ashley was an amazing character that was beautiful, sweet, funny, and completely marched to the beat of her own drummer. There are numerous other fabulous characters but there were times I felt as if I had missed something because I didn’t understand who certain people were. I later realized that although they are stand-alones, this is the third in the author’s Rebel Love series, so that’s probably why I felt a small disconnect, but it wasn’t much. The overall plot was unique and engaging and the story flowed well. Once Colton quit with the angry, brooding thing he had going on, I was completely addicted to this book. Although, why was he that way? I wish I had learned more about that.
Rebel Desire is funny, sexy, romantic, and eventually – full of sweet, happy love. I definitely recommend this to contemporary romance fans and suspect that once you pick it up, you won’t put it down until finished. I am happy to have discovered this author and can’t wait to read more from her in the future.
