Release Blitz & Interview: Save the Date

Title: Save the Date
Author: Carrie Aarons
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: June 24, 2018
Blurb
You know that pact you make with your childhood best friend of the opposite sex? The one where, if you’re both still single, lonely and hopeless at thirty, you’ll marry each other?
This is the story about what happens when you hit the big three-oh and have to make good on that pinky promise.

Personally, I think love, romance and all of that nonsense is a crock of, well,
you know. And Reese Collins, the boy who used to put worms in my hair at backyard barbecues, knows that better than anyone.

But when he moves to the same city I’ve happily, and singly, inhabited for years, memories of oaths past resurface. Reese is like a dog with a bone; a really hot dog and that bone just happens to be me.

He won’t stop hounding me, and the crazy thing is, my frigid, traitorous heart is starting to cave. For my best friend.

It seems so far off when you’re a kid playing Monopoly in your treehouse. But when that clock strikes midnight on your thirtieth birthday, and you ’re standing alone in front of a grocery store-bought cupcake, a childhood deal to walk down the aisle doesn’t seem so silly anymore.

My Review:

Do you ever read a novel, finish it, but then want to start it all over again? This is the best way to describe my love for Carrie Aarons’ Save the Date! We’ve all heard about people that say “if we’re still single at 30 we should marry…” This book takes that childhood promise to a new level as we watch Reese and Erin’s friendship grow and change as they wonder about each other and their pact they made at fifteen years old.

Reese and Erin became best friends as young kids, but when he suggested their marriage pact, little did Erin know, Reese already thought of her as “the one.” Erin is the most cynical and sarcastic woman on earth regarding love and relationships, but with their pact deadline looming and Reese returning to Philadelphia, Erin finds herself falling for his charms and wondering, “what if?”

I have fallen in love with countless numbers of book boyfriends over the years but really, Carrie Aarons? Reese?? This man is hot, sexy, hilarious, a NICU nurse that looks after struggling babies and their parents… Need I say more? Where did he come from and where can I get one?

I also loved Erin, finding her quirkiness and humor absolutely wonderful. A certain scene in the novel involving watching House Hunters naked and eating Goldfish made me laugh harder than I can recall, actually bent over, full-on belly laughing where my dogs started surrounding me thinking I was dying.

I’m afraid I’ll ruin all of the wonderful surprises in Save the Date if I keep rambling on so I will try to summarize my thoughts! This was such a funny and happy novel that contained relatable characters with realistic lives, yet completely swept me away in the best fairytale way ever. I’ve already spread the word about this novel to some friends and will continue to keep this one at the top of my recommendations list. This is one of those books that just leave you feeling fabulous!
