**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the release blitz tour for Ana Huang’s, Twisted Love! Ana Huang is a new to me author and I’m so happy to have discovered a new author to enjoy! This is the story of Alex and Ava and their slow burn and somewhat rocky path to love.  Alex is not a one-woman man, puts most of his energy into his business, and is best friends with Ava’s brother. Ava is a free-spirited college student about to graduate with her degree in photography and is almost always happy. When Josh leaves the country and asks Alex to watch over Ava, Alex takes it very seriously, almost to the part of smothering her, but then she starts to notice feelings developing for the usually cold-hearted Alex who is slowly warming up. But just when you think they have found a forever love in one another, horrible secrets come out that change everything.

Twisted Love is labeled as Contemporary Romance and Amazon has it filed under Asian American Romance, City Life Fiction, and Multicultural Romance. All of those are fine but I almost feel as if Romantic Suspense should be thrown in there also. While their developing relationship is certainly the focus, there are some sketchy issues with Ava’s ex, and most importantly, a crazy twist climactic moment that I never saw coming. We know all along that Alex wants revenge because of a horrible childhood trauma. We also learn pretty on about Ava’s nightmares and suppressed memories. But as Ava begins unraveling the truth about her childhood and when the “big moment” happens with Alex, it felt suspenseful and thrilling.

Let me be clear – when everything was revealed, I was completely blindsided and blown away.

Plot and character development are certainly well done in this novel, although at times I struggled with some of the things almost being too far-fetched. The supporting cast of characters sparked my interest also and I believe that we will get their stories in future installments of this series. Fans of a steamy, complicated romance mixed with crazy surprises will enjoy this book. It is a complete standalone with no cliffhangers, but I think you’ll want to watch for future books after reading this one. I know I can’t wait!

Something smelled delicious, like spice and heat. I wanted to wrap it around me like a blanket.

I snuggled closer to the source, enjoying the strong, solid warmth beneath my cheek. I didn’t want to wake up, but I’d promised Bridget I would volunteer at a local pet shelter with her this morning, before my afternoon shift at the gallery.

I allowed myself one more minute of coziness—had my bed always been this big and soft—before I opened my eyes and yawned.

Weird. My room looked different. No photograph prints papering the walls, no vase of sunflowers by the bed. And did my bed just move by itself?

My eyes latched onto the broad expanse of bare skin beneath me, and my stomach dropped. I looked up, up—straight into a pair of familiar green eyes. Eyes that stared back at me with no hint of the humor from last night.

He flicked his gaze down. I followed it…and realized, to my abject horror, that I was touching Alex Volkov’s dick. Unintentionally, and he had on sweats, but still.

I. Was. Touching. Alex. Volkov’s. Dick.

And it was hard.

Because Nick Collins is finally coming home.

*My Review*

Welcome to my stop on the release blitz for the latest in Jennifer Hanks’ Elite Securities series, My Salvation. Nick is an FBI agent that is trying to wrap up one of the most difficult undercover operations of his career, all while thinking of the woman he left behind. Maddie is a coffee shop owner and single mom that has given up on Nick ever coming home, but still holds him close to her heart. When they come face to face again, Nick quickly realizes that it will take a miracle to win her back, but now that his career with the FBI is over, earning her forgiveness is the only thing that matters to him.

I am so in love with this series already! Jennifer Hanks easily crept her way into my heart and soul with her DiMarco series, so when I found out about it’s spin-off, Elite Securities, I knew that I would love it, and I was right. If you have read any of her previous books then you are already familiar with Nick and Maddie, although I felt like I knew much more about Nick than Maddie. Prepare to adore these characters! Their chemistry is off the charts, Maddie is just a cool chick – plain and simple – dealing with life with a smile on her face, and Nick is full of charisma despite his demons that he has been battling for years.

Without giving spoilers, I will say I struggled with Nick’s reasoning for several decisions he made in regards to Maddie, but it didn’t impact how much I loved this book. There’s romance, sexy scenes, suspense, action, and everything in between. Jennifer Hanks is without a doubt one of my favorite writers and she continues to blow my mind with her fast-moving plots and her amazing ability to create the most relatable characters on earth. Every time that I read one of her novels, I realize that I want to live in their town and know all of of these people! If only they were real… I highly recommend My Salvation. Even if you haven’t read the DiMarco series, you can still enjoy this one. But if you do go back and start with the DiMarcos, you certainly will not regret it!

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the release tour for the latest by Ashley Hastings, The Art of Ghosting! This is my second time reading a novel from this author, although I must admit, I didn’t make the connection until I had finished reading. This novel is about two commitment-phobes, James and Alice. James is a real-estate developer in the small town of Peacock and Alice is a traveling nurse that comes to town for her aunt’s funeral and to deal with the house that was left to her. Originally planning to fix up and sell the house so that she can move on to her next job, Alice finds herself captivated by James, the charming and mysterious old house, and the diary she finds hidden in the wall, belonging to a girl named Willow. As James and Alice work on the house and read Willow’s diary, they struggle to fight the connection between them and become completely captivated by Willow’s story and the home’s history.

James and Alice start the story as two people only interested in sex with no strings attached and I loved watching the draw between them and how their outlooks towards love and relationship changed as the story progressed. But the best part of this novel was Willow’s diary and watching her grow from a teenage girl into a young woman intellectually, sexually, and emotionally. Her and Kirby’s story was addicting and I found myself anticipating reading more from the diary right along with Alice and James. The author’s characterization was incredible and her writing made it seem as if I could hear Willow’s voice and feel her emotions on more than one occasion.

The house that Alice’s aunt Rose left for her was almost a character itself. Hastings’ descriptions of the home were so vivid and intricate that it seemed as if it were a living, breathing entity all on its own. It took me back to my grandmother’s house when I was growing up, with all of its secret nooks and crannies that gave it so much charm! While reading this story and rooting for the couples to find their happily-ever-afters, I also found myself rooting for this old, beautiful house and hoping that a family would make it their home.

The Art of Ghosting has some mystery, humor, romance, and sadness all intertwined within one book. I loved the blend of genres and themes and found this to be a complete page-turner. If you love romance with a dash of historical coming-of-age and suspense, then this should definitely be your next read.

Okay, enough. I was going after this woman. I would look at the house, make my recommendations, and
then I would ask her out.
No harm in making it an actual date, right?
I would take her out for dinner, and we could share a good bottle of wine and even better conversation. I
wanted to get to know her. I wanted to hear about her travels and why she had chosen such a vagabond
So what that I was deviating from my usual routine. Yes, I trolled bars and looked for the easy hookup, no
strings attached. Dinner never happened, and conversation was kept to a minimum.
But that was okay. Was there really a problem with becoming friends before we had sex? I would be clear
on my expectations and expect the same from her.
No problem.
I took about two minutes to unpack, which consisted of throwing my folded clothes into the dresser and
putting toiletries in the bathroom. I would worry about cleaning and uncovering the furniture later.
Right now, I had a woman to woo.
After stopping at my truck to grab my toolbox, I walked back to the main house and let myself in, making a
note to get a copy of the key from Alice. I made my way back down to the basement, figuring that was as
good a place to start as any.
I was surprised to see Alice on all fours at the entrance to the closet underneath the stairs. I took a
moment to appreciate the view, because I’m still a man, before saying her name.
She jumped.
“Oh!” Alice got to her feet in a hurry. “You snuck up on me. I’m trying to get Sharpie to come out of hiding.”
“I forgot he was in here.” I crossed over to where she stood and peered into the closet. “I don’t see him.”

“He ran in here a minute ago, and I think he might actually be in the wall. See that little panel?” Alice
pointed to an access panel I assumed hid some sort of plumbing or electrical system. It was ajar.
She leaned into me, trying to get a better look in the gloomy basement. My brain promptly short-circuited
as I breathed in her natural scent. Like rainwater or newly fallen snow. Fresh and beautiful.
Shaking it off, I reached in the toolbox for my flashlight and switched it on. I illuminated the dark corner of
the closet, and Alice stepped in front of me. Crouched down on the floor again, she called for Sharpie, and his shining eyes appeared.
Alice held out her hand, and Sharpie slowly advanced, finally giving in to head butt her outstretched hand. His purr filled the closet.
Alice rubbed his head. “Does that feel good, Little Sir?”
I bet it did.
“This is an odd place for an access panel. I mean, it’s so low to the ground.” I was mostly talking to myself, but Alice nodded.
“Yeah. And it’s kind of hidden. If it were closed, I don’t think I would even realize it was here.” She pulled
the panel open wider so I could see inside.
I leaned in further and shone the flashlight deeper into the panel opening. Still seeing nothing of interest, I
stepped back.
Alice stopped me with one dainty hand on my arm. “Wait! What was that?”
Alice fished her hand around, out of my view, and pulled out a small cloth bundle with a triumphant flourish.
We stepped out of the cramped closet, and Alice unwrapped her find. We stared at a small, leather book
of some kind.
Alice opened the old book with care. Scrawled on the first page with a feminine hand were the words,
“Diary of Willow Baxter, Started November 1918, Age 16.”
“Holy shit.” I scratched the stubble on my chin with one hand, still looking at the diary.
Alice did a little happy dance. “Willow must have lived in the house and hid her diary here. This is so
freaking cool.”
Fuck, she was adorable.
We sat down on the stairs together, and Sharpie sat a few steps above us, spread his legs, and started
cleaning his asshole with no shame whatsoever.
Fucking cats.
Alice turned the page with extreme care, and her eagerness to read the secret thoughts of a teenager
from over a hundred years ago made me smile.
“So, let me guess. She’s going to ramble on and on about petticoats and ribbons or some shit.” I rolled
my eyes, prepared to be bored.
Alice punched me in the arm. “Hush! Let me read.”
I was ready for any excuse to spend time with Alice, so I shut my mouth and listened.

Release Blitz and Review: Say You Love Me, by Sabre Rose

Title: Say You Love Me
Author: Sabre Rose
Genre: Psychological Romantic Suspense
Release Date: November 7, 2019

One night and everything changed.
We became strangers.
Now, he doesn’t look at me, doesn’t touch me.
He blames me.
But I need him. I want him.
And I will do anything to win back his affection.
Even if it is to let another into our marriage.
He is my husband.
And I will love him.

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the release blitz for Say You Love Me, the latest novel from author Sabre Rose. This was my first time reading anything by this author and it was a page-turner for me. This one is tricky to review because the blurb is so vague that I don’t want to give anything away, so bear with me.

This is about a husband and wife, Finity and Hudson, and all the reader is allowed to know for a great deal of the book is that she did something to completely break him. I had several ideas of what she did, but all of my thoughts ended up proven wrong.  Hudson and Finity are obviously very much in love, despite his behaviors, but it’s also apparent that something has gone terribly wrong at some point. The novel starts with him picking her up from an inpatient facility, then the story is told from their dual points of view flip-flopping between past and present. What the reader gets to see is a very angry and broken man taking out all of that anger on the wife that he loves. And what’s even more disturbing is that she welcomes it. Anything to get his attention, even if it’s bad, uncomfortable, and so on – she doesn’t care – she just wants him to display some sort of feeling and emotion related to her. And he does some stuff that I would like to say would earn any man an ass-kicking, but I haven’t been in that situation.

Part of me finds this novel to be an extraordinary love story. Part of me wanted to grab these characters by the throat and call Dr. Phil for an emergency session. Nevertheless, I couldn’t put this one down. There is some crazy shit in this novel which made me feel as if I had the most vanilla, normal marriage on earth. But at the end of the day, this one is about two people doing the best they can to cope with the hands that they have been dealt in life. I can’t say if I liked or hated either Hudson or Finity, but the author obviously poured her heart and soul into her character development, so bravo for that!

The third significant character within the story is a young man named Riley whom Finity met at the wellness center. Poor Riley is just innocent and I’m sorry, horny. He gets pulled into their completely dysfunctional life and becomes a pawn. Although we never get Riley’s POV, the author’s writing paints the picture perfectly so the reader is aware that Riley will do absolutely anything to get the object of his affection.

Not everyone will enjoy Say You Love Me, this I can guarantee. However, readers that want something a bit darker and edgier regarding romance/women’s fiction – this one is a must-read. It will not leave you with warm and fuzzy feelings, but you will know that you read a damned good book. Hats off to Sabre Rose for writing something beautiful, dark, emotional, romantic, sexy, and totally out of the box.

Book Review: Theo’s Retaliation (Fated Lives Series Books 5-7), by Kelly Moore

Book Review: Theo’s Retaliation (Fated Lives Series), by Kelly Moore

Publication: May 21, 2019

About the book:

Book 5
Lawson Reed – The Gunners’ SEAL team trainer and best friend to Derrick Rebel

Book 6
Fiona Petit – A strong young woman whose life has been taken from her, and the one woman Theo Drake could not save.

Book 7
Theo’s Retaliation

Theo’s mind has been clouded from the moment he failed to keep his promise to set Fiona Petit free. His job of infiltrating a crime ring and becoming one of them has turned Theo’s once-happy demeanor dark. Now he has one purpose, and one purpose only…to find Fiona. If she’s still alive.

Rebel builds the Gunners with new team members and gains intel on another organization whose crimes resemble those committed by geNetics. This time, it’s almost right outside his own back door. The Gunner team will go into battle against a familiar force that leaves none of them unscathed.

Will it lead Rebel to help Theo find Fiona, or will it dig Theo’s grave deeper? Will Rebel die trying to save them all, or will he lose Fallon in the process?
Will Theo get his retaliation?

**My Review**

This one is titled Theo’s Retaliation, but get ready for so much more in this collection of Books 5-7 in Kelly Moore’s Fated Lives series! Hopefully, you have already read Rebel’s Retribution, but if not, read it first! The incredible first collection in this series will give you some good info to get you ready for Theo.

Theo’s Retaliation begins with the back story of the mysterious and sexy Lawson. Your heart will ache as you learn about his past, his heartbreak, and how he came to be the owner of the gym where Rebel trains. So much is learned about this fabulous character and I promise you will understand the need to open with his life later on.

Next, we get some of Fiona’s history and how she ended up being sucked into the criminal holds of geNetics. Again, her story is heartbreaking, frustrating, but almost hopeful. Theo was the first light she had seen in a while with regards to her future, but he wasn’t able to free her and bring her home as promised.

Which brings us to the bulk of the book, all about Theo’s retaliation. Theo’s character has changed significantly since the start of this series. The once sweet and light-hearted man has become angry and borderline obsessed over his failed promise to free Fiona. But once the Gunner team gets a plan in place to try again to bring geNetics down, Theo is all business again with one goal in mind – bring Fiona home. What does this mean for the reader? This means non-stop, heart-pounding action and suspense until the very last word of the novel!

One thing I have always loved about Kelly Moore is her flawless way to blend romance with suspense and action. Yes, she has written several wonderful novels that are mostly women’s fiction/romance, however, this woman has super-powers when it comes to romantic suspense/action. I don’t know of another author that can combine so much action, so much emotion, and impeccable characterization into one beautifully wrapped package. Speaking of which, have you checked out the beautiful man on the cover? Or on Rebel’s cover, for that matter? Anyway, I have loved reading all of her novels over the years and watching her writing grow and change, but this series and specifically this book are perfect examples of her unprecedented writing ability in this blended genre.

If you are a fan of romance, suspense, action, and true emotion – then I cannot recommend this novel enough. The plot is perfectly developed with several surprises and a number of things coming together to give you those wonderful “aha” moments. Moore takes the time to build her characters so that we are invested and curious, yet without overdoing it with mundane details. Her imagery is so strong that you will feel the tension, feel the frustrations, and feel the joys right along with the characters. And most importantly, she leaves you wanting more. Much more, in fact.

Anytime I think that Kelly Moore has written her best novel yet, she always surprises me with the next one. I am constantly in awe of this woman’s ability to create such engaging characters and stories, and Theo’s Retaliation is yet another example of her ability to surprise me over and over again.

*Many thanks to the lovely Kelly Moore for providing an advanced review copy in exchange for my honest opinion!

Rebel’s Retribution (Fated Lives Series Book 1)

To destroy the organization, one will become the criminal, the other will be forced to confront unfinished business from his past.  One of them…will never be the same.

**My Review**

I’m so excited to bring you my review of Kelly Moore’s upcoming novel, Rebel’s Retribution! Derrick Rebel was once in love and on top of the world as the team leader of his Seal team, the Gunners. After losing his team, except for the youngest member, Theo, Rebel’s world becomes solitary and resentful. But then Fallon shows up scared and needing help, and Theo motivates Rebel to rejoin the land of the living and utilize their skills to protect Fallon while also bringing down the criminal organization that is threatening her.

First of all, just take a moment to enjoy and appreciate the sexy man on this cover! I already loved the idea of Rebel, but once I saw the cover I realized that Kelly had perfectly captured what I pictured him to be!

I absolutely loved the character of Rebel, loved Theo, and ended up loving Fallon. But Fallon was tricky for me initially. She was understandably worried about her sister, as well as, her own safety, but it took a while for her to really start grabbing my attention. However, after finishing the book and looking back on her character, I like the way she was developed and slowly came out of her shell. She went from being somewhat reserved to sparring with Rebel in a boxing ring to being in an unimaginable and dangerous situation.  Rebel, Theo, and Fallon all developed and changed in the story, but Fallon’s character stands out the most as far as adapting and making changes based on her experiences.

My followers already know how much I love Kelly Moore’s novels, but this one was special because it took me back to her Broken Pieces series, which were the first books that I read by her. This book gave me that nostalgic feeling with the military and crime components, paired with the fast-paced action and suspense. There are constant twists and turns, then there were “aha moments,” and then there would be some exciting twist again, and so on.

I wish I could go into detail about the many things I loved about the plot, but I absolutely don’t want to give any spoilers because the fantastic thing about this book is trying to figure out what’s going on, why, and who is responsible. Besides the suspense/thriller aspects of the novel, there is also a perfect amount of humor and romance added in making it a perfect read regardless of your preferred genre. The overall themes include persevering, taking chances, overcoming trauma/heartbreak, and the importance of finding happiness and beauty again, whatever that means to you.

Loved Rebel, loved this story, and recommend it highly!

This is not a cliffhanger novel and things are mostly wrapped up in the end, but it definitely leaves you wanting more and has me crazy excited about Theo’s upcoming book!

*Many thanks to Kelly Moore for providing this review copy in exchange for my honest review!

Psychological Romantic Suspense

Lizzy Adams spent the summer pining for Tyson Smith, the sexy security agent whose instruction at a safety seminar saved her life. Now, every man she meets is measured against the absolute awesomeness of the brawny black man with the soulful eyes, the baritone voice that whispers over her like a velvet caress, and a smile that turns her knees to jelly. Now she just had to get him to notice her.
Tyson Smith had a lot of respect for Lizzy Adams, the spunky teacher who freed herself from the clutches of a deranged miscreant who’d wanted to take her hostage. But his concept of her wholesome ‘girl-next-door’ image was challenged the night she showed up at a company barbeque dressed as a flirty cowgirl. Always the gentleman, he managed to keep his eyes off her assets as she strolled around the farm. His mother had raised him better, but there was no denying that she was every man’s ‘American Beauty’ fantasy. But the night he’d shown up at her doorstep to help her out altered their relationship forever. Between the fear in her eyes and the baseball bat perched on her shoulder, his protective side surfaced, and he handed her a piece of his heart.
Their whirlwind romance is threatened when a man from Lizzy’s past attacks her. Sam Clark wants vengeance for his son. He blames the jurors from Jason’s trial for Jason’s death and crafts a hit list. But killing Lizzy, the scrappy survivor, is harder than he thought. After Sam fails at his first attempt on Lizzy’s life, he resolves to kill her before he’s forced into hiding. He just has to get past the big, black man who appointed himself Lizzy’s protector.

Welcome to my stop on the tour for Karen Tjebben’s latest in her Savage Security series, Lizzy’s Kiss. Unfortunately, I have not read the previous books in this series but believe me that it doesn’t matter, you can still enjoy this one!

This novel is part crime, part psychological, and part romance. Lizzy is completely infatuated with Tyson, who is dating someone else. Tyson sort of has the hots for Lizzy but is trying to be respectful. Sam is completely crazy and has decided to kill the jurors that sent his son to prison, and one of those is Lizzy.

This novel started out a bit odd and slow for me. Lizzy seemed like this desperate, needy, sexually frustrated young woman and was somewhat annoying. Then, I had no clue who anyone was and there is no clear POV. One second, the story is being told by this person, but then it’s someone else, and then another person without any chapter changes or any real division. This was confusing and I’m not sure why it was done this way. On one hand, it will keep a reader on their toes because they’ll never know who is going to talk next…. But I still struggled with it and it made me go back and re-read several pages.

As I read on, Lizzy became less of an annoyance and ended up being likable. However, although Sam was the “bad guy” of the novel, he was probably the most interesting character. As I was reading, I felt that I gained more insight into who he really was, versus the little glimpses provided regarding Lizzy and Tyson. Yes, he was sick, psychotic, and so forth – but I felt he was the most developed character in the novel.

Throughout Lizzy’s Kiss, I had several back and forth moments trying to determine how I felt about the book. As I said before, Lizzy wasn’t a fantastic main character and her best friend Grace (the main character from a previous novel in the serious) was quite possibly the flattest and most under-developed character that I have ever read (and I read a book a day.) However, I enjoyed the overall plot and action of the novel and found myself truly engaged in the story.

As far as the ending…. I just don’t understand. Why pour so much detail into a book and then just suddenly stop? Perhaps it’s just me, but I need a bit more closure than that. What happened next with Tyson and Lizzy? What happened with Sam? Will this be continued in another novel? Ugghhhh the questions!

Anyway, overall I enjoyed this novel. It was a fun, quick escape into the fictional world of suspenseful romance. If you aren’t overly detail-oriented and just want a fun read, then check this one out!

Meli Raine
(False, #2)
Publication date: December 10th 2018
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense

She thinks she’s fooled me. But I’ve known all along.

Lily is hiding something, a secret so big, she came out of a year-long coma and her first instinct was to lie.

Who does that? Someone who is afraid. No—not afraid.

Terrified. And it’s my job to take that fear away.

My partner and I have spent countless man-hours hunting down the cold-blooded killer who did this to her. Meanwhile, Lily’s spent her waking hours recovering. Getting stronger. Getting smarter.

Staying beautiful.

Never get involved emotionally. That’s my dictate. Never get attached.

When you realize you’re caught in a triangle, it turns out there is no exit.

Crossing a line is easy. Holding a line takes strength.

Lily’s shooter knows that she’s my weakness.

One I have to get back.

No matter what it takes.

If unicorns had a flavor, it would taste like kissing Lily.

Her essence is still on the tip of my tongue as I watch the layered response Lily has mastered. Observe her as that beautiful mind works to line all the pieces up and execute the subterfuge, living in two selves, one ever vigilant, one struggling to stay quiet.

For months now, I’ve felt it. Sensed it.

Now I can taste it, too. Lies have a flavor.

And God help me, I want more of the deliciousness of Lily.

But those lies come with an aftertaste, a bitter acrimony that has an overriding power.

My own words ring in the air like a gong as I wait: When were you going to tell me you’ve been faking the amnesia, Lily? Before or after I sleep with you?

“Sleep with me?” she squeaks, the words catching me off guard. I assumed she’d deny the lying.

Not talk about my fantasies.

“You want to talk about that?” I choke out, amused and sickened. “You’ve been lying to me for close to a year and all you want to talk about is sleeping with me?”

“You brought it up!”

She’s got me there.

“How about this fake amnesia bullshit, Lily? How about we talk about that before we discuss getting sweet between the sheets?”

She blushes.

I get hard.

This—this is why I should have recused myself from this damned assignment long ago. I knew this day would come. I knew I’d have to call her on the lying.

Worse than that—I knew I wouldn’t be able to help myself.

**My Review**

Wow…. For some (unknown) reason, this is my first time reading Aurora Rose Reynolds! Until Cobi completely blew me away and I feel certain that any lovers of contemporary romance (and especially alpha males) will feel the same! Cobi meets Hadley after she helps save his cousin and instantly falls for her when he looks into her eyes. Cobi comes from a wonderful and loving family, whereas, Hadley grew up in a home with drugging and drinking parents that didn’t care about her. So when Cobi starts coming on strong, Hadley is very resistant. However, a woman can only resist a man’s charms for so long when he’s beautiful, caring, romantic, and basically close to perfection.

There are not enough words to express the absolute love and infatuation I have for Cobi! He goes above and beyond any of my previous book boyfriends and I so wish he were real. I mean really, how does the author expect us to not compare every other man on earth to Cobi?

Besides my obvious love, lust, and longing for Cobi I truly loved this novel. Until Cobi is the perfect combination of romance, sexiness, laughter, tears, and suspense. Cobi and Hadley dealt with several criminal issues, family issues, and working through the enormous barriers Hadley had built around her heart. But despite all of the issues going on with or around them, this couple had off-the-charts chemistry! From the first few pages of this novel, I wanted Cobi and Hadley together and wanted them to have a fairy tale ending.

I could ramble about this book forever, but to sum everything up, Until Cobi is just a romantic, feel-good novel that everyone should read. It has great suspense with a bit of crime/mystery, it will make you laugh, and most importantly, it will make your heart feel incredibly happy! I’m so happy to have discovered Aurora Rose Reynolds and cannot wait to start adding her other novels to my Kindle and dig in!

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Hardwired, the latest release from author Andrea Bills. This military romance/suspense (with a bit of sci/fi) is about Navy Seal Luke Kiersey, who according to his wife Jen and her family, was killed 5 years ago in what should have been his last mission. Having amnesia since an accident years ago that resulted in an experimental surgery to save his life, Luke is granted a short leave where he finds himself in a rented beach house in N.C. Moreover, he finds himself powerfully drawn to the woman and her daughter that live next door. When he finds himself coming to her rescue more than once, his new life suddenly collides with the past bringing unimaginable joy, confusion, and danger.

After receiving this ARC and beginning this novel, I almost didn’t continue much past the first few chapters because of the sci/fi elements of Luke’s story, simply because it’s typically not my thing. However, I am so glad I saw this one through because it turned out to be a fast-paced, suspenseful, and romantic novel that I loved!

So, I was saying, the sci/fi element just seemed a bit too impossible for me at first, however, despite the huge role that this “chip” played in the novel, the stars of the story were Luke, Jen, Bella and all their experiences from beginning to end. I’ve found that I typically enjoy military romance (as you probably know if you regularly read my blog) but Hardwired has a unique edge to it that sets it apart from other military romances that I have read. There are a variety of complex characters and Bills’ carefully walks the reader through the events and emotions that are so powerful throughout the novel. On a lighter note, there is a lot of love and laughter among Jen, Bella, Luke, Jen’s parents, and Dean. Hardwired also includes a huge amount of suspense that kept me guessing and wondering what would happen next several times. Yes, this novel includes a very happy ending, but it kept me on the edge of my seat wondering and hoping from beginning to end.

This was my first opportunity for reading and reviewing for Andrea Bills, but it certainly will not be my last. This is an author to check out if you haven’t already. Her writing style and characterization will grip you from the beginning and I can’t wait to read more from her in the future.
