**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the release blitz tour for Laura Pavlov’s, Claimed. This is the 5th and final installment in the Willow Springs series and honestly, it is my favorite of the series. Finally, we get Ivy’s story who after five years still isn’t over her first and only love, country star Ty Greene. Instead of following their plans to go to college together, Ty took off to Nashville 5 years ago, broke Ivy’s heart, and she hasn’t spoken to him since. But now she is planning his sister’s wedding and Ty is returning any day.

Talk about chemistry! Even when they were arguing, the sparks between Ty and Ivy were out of this world. I loved his flirty charm as much as I loved his soft and serious side. I’ve always enjoyed Ivy in the other books but learned to absolutely love her now that she was the star of her own book. I never realized how funny and easy-going she was and I love being surprised about characters when I’ve been reading the entire series all along.

Even though I started this book assuming the long-lost lovers would reunite, this one had me wondering a time or two because it seemed that there were just too many obstacles between them. It was obviously frustrating at times because I would think their happily ever after had arrived only to met with another conflict, but I loved this one from beginning to end regardless.

My favorite part, however, was the two epilogues. Have the Kleenex handy for this because you will cry all kinds of happy tears! Pavlov beautifully wrapped up the series in the first epilogue and then gave us a glimpse of the characters’ futures in the second one (including everyone’s children) and I absolutely adored all of it. But I did cry a bit much, so be warned.

I highly recommend Claimed and easily rate this a 5-star read, but I strongly suggest starting at the beginning of the series with Frayed. Each of these can be read as a stand-alone but will be so much better if read in order.

The air shifted once we were alone. Ty stretched out his long legs, crossing them at the ankle, and then connected his hands behind his head, like he didn’t have a care in the world. His tee lifted just a bit and I tried not to let my gaze wander to the sliver of tanned abs that was on display, but I couldn’t help myself.
“So…” he said.
“So what?” I hissed, before opening my computer screen and pulling up the budget for Talia’s wedding. “Let’s get down to business.”
“Sure. Sounds good to me.”
I looked up to see him drinking me in. “Stop looking at me all smug and sex driven.”
“How does one look sex driven?” he said over his laughter.
“I don’t know, Ty. Maybe you should try looking in a mirror.”
“Come on, Ive. Stop this. Can’t we talk?”
“About the budget? Sure.” I kept my eyes trained on my screen.
He moved to his feet and came around my desk, and I swear I stopped breathing. “Fine. Let me look at the budget.” He stood behind me leaning over my chair and I squeezed my thighs together because holy hell, my lady bits do still work. Was it his scent? Was he shooting his pheromones at me or something?
“So, the total is at the bottom. Do you have issues with anything? These are the line items here,” my voice came out in a whisper, with a side of lust.
What in the hell.
You’re better than this Ivy.
“It all looks good to me.” He turned my chair, so I was facing him. “You look good. I’ve missed you something fierce.”
I narrowed my gaze and shoved back in my chair, my wheels making it easy to move away and put some much needed distance between me and the pheromone king.
“That ship has sailed, Ty. It sailed a long time ago when you disappeared from my life. So, if you don’t want to talk about the budget, then I am going to have to ask you to leave. Don’t make me call security.”
He barked out a laugh. “Why are you so nervous?”
“I’m not nervous. I’m annoyed. Can you not tell the difference, Mr. Country Star?”
He moved toward me, and his tongue swiped out and wet his bottom lip.
Halleluiah, mother of Mary, Lord have mercy, holy hell fire…this man would be the death of me.
“Have dinner with me tomorrow night. We can go to our favorite old place, Dean Taylors Steak House,” he said.
I gasped, let out a few appalled huffy breaths to make it clear that that was not happening. “You must be dreaming.”
“I do dream about you often.”
“I already have a date tomorrow. As a matter of fact, he and I are having dinner at Dean Taylors tomorrow night,” I said proudly as I moved to my feet and stepped further from him. I’d most definitely be taking Dr. Scotty up on his offer.
“Who is he?” he asked, and he looked so smug I wanted to slap the sexy right off his face.
“He’s a doctor. He’s opening his own veterinary practice here in town. It’s all very impressive.” I smiled and crossed my arms over my chest to calm my racing heart.
He moved closer. Invading my space once again. “What’s his name, Ive?”
“You smug bastard. His name is Dr. Scotty.” My back hit the wall and he was so close our noses were almost touching.
I couldn’t move. I was paralyzed by his gaze.
And nothing was going according to plan.

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the book tour for Melissa Foster’s latest, Searching for Love. This is about childhood sweethearts Zev and Carly who after a horrible accident involving their friend, go their separate ways. Years later, Zev is living his and Carly’s dream traveling the world as a treasure hunter, and Carly is has become a chocolatier and taken over her aunt’s chocolate shop. When Zev comes to town for a wedding, he has no idea that Carly even leaves there and certainly doesn’t expect to see her. But sparks fly between them all over again as soon as they see one another.

I have loved the Pleasant Hills – Oak Falls series, and Searching for Love did not disappoint. It took me all of a few pages to completely fall in love with Zev, which seems to be a habit of mine when I’m reading Melissa Foster’s books. And goodness, check out the cover! He’s sexy, handsome, incredibly sweet and caring, and most of all – he’s a lot of fun. It took me a little bit to warm up to Carly, but then watching her completely lose her mind just over thoughts of Zev had me laughing out loud so many times. Carly’s friend Birdie was absolutely hysterical and was an amazing addition to this book, making me hope that one day she will get her own story.

Second-chance romances always tug at my heartstrings and this one was amazing. I loved that even though they had broken up long ago, he followed through with their dreams and kept pieces of their history together with him wherever he went. This book just oozes romance, so be prepared to have all the feels with this one complete with a fairytale ending. My only criticism at all is that the last few chapters felt a little packed to me. So many people kept appearing and there was one surprise after another almost making things chaotic. Nevertheless, it was a wonderful book with a wonderful ending that made my heart happy!

Release Blitz, Review, & Giveaway: Drowning, by Hope Jones

Title: Drowning
Author: Hope Jones
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 2, 2020

Imagine orchestrating your divorce under false pretenses.
That’s precisely what Cecilia Topps did. After receiving a disturbing diagnosis, Cecilia felt like she was drowning, unable to take a breath. She didn’t want to bring her
husband down with her, so she created a damaging lie.
Cameron Topps had been going through the motions for seven years. The betrayal he felt from his wife left him numb and unable to love again. His indifference led to hatred when he walked into his bar, seeing his wife again after unknowingly hiring
Secrets are exposed, lines are crossed, and Cameron finally learns the truth about his divorce. Is he willing to drown with Cecilia all over again, or will he move on
for good?

**My Review**
Welcome to my stop on the release blitz tour for Hope Jones’ latest novel, Drowning. I will warn you ahead of time that I’m a bit all over the place on my thoughts about this book, but I wasn’t able to put it down as soon as I had read the first page.
The book begins with a very tense prologue between husband and wife, Cameron and Cecilia, and appears to be the end of the marriage. The novel then moves forward about 7 years where Cameron is opening his own night club and Cecilia is a sought-after mixologist. Unknowingly, Cameron’s manager books an appointment with Cecilia, so the exes are thrown together after years of not seeing or communicating with one another – and it doesn’t go well. But soon, curiosity and desire get the best of Cameron and he decides to move forward with their working relationship. Although they quickly realize that all of the old feelings and chemistry is still there between them.
I loved Cameron and think he should win book husband/ex-husband of the year award. This man is hurt terribly and has been dealing with that hurt and anger for years when Cecilia suddenly re-enters his life. Moreover, I like how he handled things after learning the truth about their divorce. As other secrets came out, he probably could have handled those a little better, but overall, that man was devoted, committed, patient, kind, and every other positive adjective I can think of.
Now here’s the part where I predict my thoughts are in the minority based on some other reviews that I have read. And I am doing everything in my power not to give anything away. But as a person that has spent most of their adult life working with children, adolescents, and adults with Celilia’s illness, I found her actions a bit over the top. Based on the blurb, you know she lies to Cameron to make him walk away, thinking that she’s sparing him this miserable and difficult life with her. Then her later actions were even more mind-blowing to me. According to a January 2020 fact sheet on WHO’s website, more than 264 million people worldwide of all ages suffer from the same illness as Cecilia and I just started to imagine, what if everyone had her same reaction to a problem? I am in no way diminishing the seriousness because again, in some capacity or another, I have worked with people suffering from this disease in varying degrees of severity since I was in college (many years ago, lol).
Anyway, moving on and remembering that this is, in fact, a fiction novel, I will get back to what I loved about Drowning. This book is full of emotion, chemistry, and of course – love. The connection between Cameron and Cecilia is evident very early on and you will be rooting for them from the beginning to the end. Secondly, I love the creativity that went into this book. The plot, the characters, the storyline – even Cecilia’s job. I love it when I read something fresh and different that doesn’t feel like a different version of a story I’ve heard a million times. But one of the most remarkable things about Drowning is Hope Jones’ writing style. This is her 3rd novel, but her writing reads like someone that has been doing this for years. Her language, dialogue, and descriptors read like a very well-oiled machine, with a perfect balance of characterization to truly bring them all to life. This book is emotional but romantic. It’s suspenseful but comes with a very satisfying conclusion. I definitely recommend this to contemporary/second-chance romance fans that want a bit more substance. This isn’t a quick and easy read, but you will enjoy it.

“I’m sorry.” My words were muffled by the hiccup of tears
and snot running down my face. I tilted my eyes down. I couldn’t look at him.
My poor, sweet Cam. He would never forgive me. I knew this. It was what I
I wanted—no, needed him to walk out our
front door and not look back. I needed him to hate me.
“You’re sorry? That’s what you have to say?” He was calm, so
damn calm it physically made me sick. I knew it was because he was hurting. I
knew that hurt was eating him alive.
I couldn’t say anything past the lump in my throat, so I
nodded instead.
Cam looked at me, looked through me and for
a moment, I was worried he would see that I was lying and try to demand the
truth from me. I would deny it. I didn’t want him to know the truth. I wanted
him to think I had done the unthinkable, done something he’d never be able to
get over.
My beautiful, broken husband stared into my eyes for two
solid minutes without flinching. He said absolutely nothing. His gaze flitted
between both of my eyes, then down to my nose, my lips, lingering there, then
finally back to my eyes. I bit my lip nervously, waiting for him to say “Ah-ha”
and catch me in my lie.
Cam never did, though. I wasn’t going to deny it made me a
little upset that he didn’t know me well enough to know I was lying. I wanted
to take back the words that had left my mouth five minutes ago. I wanted to
take back the entire day, but it wasn’t possible, and I needed to accept what
my new life was going to look like.
“I can’t even look at you,” Cam muttered, turning away from
me. I caught the curled lip and glare on his face before his back was facing
me. Hurt so strong filled my chest and made it feel like it would explode and
not in a good way.
God, the pain was so bad.
I had to rub my chest, right above my heart, but it didn’t
ease the ache I had put there.
Cameron, the man I had married two years ago, grabbed his
coat off the hook in the foyer and opened the front door. He turned around,
glancing at me one last time. That last time was enough to make a sob escape my
throat. He had a single tear running down his face then splashing on his broad
I had never seen him cry before. Not when his mother died,
not when we had to put down our first dog, and not when we had gotten married.
Never. That lonely tear trekking down his cheek broke me and I knew, down in
my bones, I would never be the same after putting that tear
I didn’t speak a word and Cam walked out, slamming the door
behind him, making me jump. I finally crumpled, falling into the fetal position
on the couch and crying until I couldn’t breathe. I had done this to myself. I
knew it had to be done, but that didn’t make it easier.
Two hours later, he hadn’t come back and I knew he wasn’t
going to. He wouldn’t come back until he knew I was gone. I had packed the
majority of my stuff, placing the few boxes in my small car. I only took my
clothes. I didn’t feel right taking anything we had gotten together when we
moved into this house.
Glancing around the place I had shared with my husband for
the last year, I felt a level of sadness that I didn’t know I would continue to
feel for six months. It settled over my shoulder like a blanket, except it was
cold—a cold blanket of nastiness.
At least that blanket wouldn’t be wrapped around Cameron. He
didn’t deserve that.
I fired off a text to him, locked our front door and left
the key on the porch, then backed my car out of our driveway for the last
Me: I’m so sorry, I never meant to hurt you. I
love you and always will.
I didn’t speak to Cameron again until two months later after
a stranger showed up on my doorstep serving me with divorce papers. I could
have let those papers kill me, but I knew it was Cameron’s best chance at a
decent life, so I went to the court dates. I didn’t fight him. He petitioned
for everything except my car. I gave him everything. That’s what he

Blog Tour & Review: Take a Look at Me Now, by Kendra Smith

Take a Look at Me Now,

by Kendra Smith

Publication: Aria; April 16, 2020

Book coverAbout the book

Out with the old…

Maddie Brown has spent most of her life putting everyone else’s needs above her own. But with her marriage crumbling and her nest scarily empty, she realizes it may be time to spread her own wings and fly.

In with the… ex?

At a university reunion, Maddie meets Greg. He was the love of her life – and the one that got away. Some things never change, and neither of them can deny the feelings that linger between them. But there are so many reasons they can’t be together… not least the massive secret she has been keeping from him all these years.

Maddie is SO ready for a brand new start. But what do you do when the past just won’t stay in the past?

*My Review*

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for the latest from author Kendra Smith, Take a Look at Me Now! This novel is about a 41-year-old woman named Maddie. Her 19-year-old-son, Ed, is off traveling the world during a gap year and she is left at home with empty nest syndrome and a less than desirable husband named Tim. When Maddie attends her college reunion, she spots Greg, her true love from her younger days. This coupled with some wise and encouraging words from her Aunt Olive about getting out and living her life, sparks a change in Maddie.

This book is a long one, 498 pages to be exact. Honestly, I would say about the first 20-30% of it sort of dragged for me and I was worried that this one just wouldn’t work for me. Luckily, I stuck with it and found myself completely engrossed in Maddie’s story. Things get interesting when she heads to Bali to check on her son after a surfing accident. There, she not only meets a good-looking surfing instructor, but she also gets to relive some of her earlier days by trying out surfing again for herself. Moreover, she finds herself at concerts, beach parties, and having the time of her life. Unfortunately, while she’s there, a string of horrible things come to light regarding her ridiculous husband, so she’s not sure what waits for her once she returns. Once back in the UK, there’s a whole other chain of events, resulting in Maddie heading to Isle of Wight to fix up her Aunt Olive’s cottage. This is when things start getting interesting!

I’ve seen some reviews of this book that were from younger readers saying that they struggled to relate to/connect with Maddie, making them not enjoy the book. I completely get that because when you’re young, it’s hard to imagine getting to your 40’s and not being happy with your life. However, I completely got this book! Considering I remarried 5 years ago at 40 years old, I found it effortless to relate to and root for Maddie. Who says you can’t start over and create a new life completely unlike the one you’ve been living? Is it ever too late to find your own happily ever after? I found Maddie to be an honest, vulnerable, yet inspirational character. This woman was put through the wringer the entire novel, yet she carried on and excelled in a new career in a new place – for the most part, completely on her own. Yes, she had some circumstances requiring her to ask for help, but overall, Maddie’s character is amazingly independent and strong.

I did have some issues with Greg’s stubbornness and Ed’s judgemental attitude, but overall, I truly enjoyed this novel. Maddie’s character should serve as inspiration for anyone that wonders shouldn’t life be better than this. This was a 4-star read for me (not 5 because of the length and the slow start) and it is one that I highly recommend. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Book Review: Love, Michael, by Gina A. Jones

Love, Michael,

by Gina A. Jones

Publication: Dragonfly Books; August 2, 2019

Love MichaelAbout the book:

Twenty years ago, I spent our wedding night alone and was given a letter outlining the day and time of our divorce.

Now it’s our daughter’s wedding day, and your smile tells me you’re here for more than to walk her down the aisle.

When we met, it was the summer of Shania Twain, the color of Mocha Iced lipstick, Sand & Sable perfume, and the summer I began a seventeen-year-old mother. But time has changed me.

So tell me, why are you back?

**My Review**

Oh my shattered heart, not sure how to review this one! I just finished reading Love, Michael, by Gina A. Jones and my emotions are all over the place. This beautiful novel is told from Jill’s POV and switches back and forth between the present and past tense. Beginning with their daughter Monica’s wedding day, Michael has returned to walk his daughter down the aisle, and as Jill quickly learns, to make-up for the heartache he caused them both in the past. The author then flashes back to when they first met when Jill was seventeen years old and the story meanders between their history together and Michael’s reappearance into their lives.

Have the Kleenex handy for this one because Jones’ exceptional writing and this touching story will give you all the feels from good to bad. First, I have to admit that Michael and Jill’s past was eerily similar to my first marriage, so reading this was amazingly difficult at times. The author mentions that some of this story was based on her actual events in her life, so I feel like we need to get together over a bottle of wine and compare notes. But although there are heart-wrenching moments in this novel regarding Michael and Jill’s relationship, there are just as many beautiful moments when he returns years later.

Jones’ characterization was incredible in this novel, however, I truly had a love/hate relationship with both Michael and Jill. The younger version of Jill was so frustrating because of the things she tolerated, however, the older version of Jill was, at times, just as frustrating because of the walls she had built around her heart. The younger Michael was a complete ass, but as I continued to see the positive changes in him later, I couldn’t help but fall in love with him a little. I think the switching between time periods is the only reason I was able to like Michael at all. If their story would have been told in order from beginning to end, I would have hated him too much to care about the different man he later became.

As it states on the cover, this is truly a story about regrets, wanting, and getting second chances, but also about a third, fourth, fifth, and even more chances.  But an even more prominent theme is love itself and how it can endure regardless of time, mistakes, and disappointment. Love, Michael is romantic, emotional, powerful, and is one of my favorite novels that I have read in a while. I highly recommend this story of love and forgiveness, but prepare yourself for some ugly crying. This was my first time reading Gina A. Jones, but certainly will not be my last.

Book Tour, Review, & Giveaway: Bayside Romance, by Melissa Foster

Fall in love at Bayside, where sandy beaches, good friends, and true love come together in the sweet small towns of Cape Cod. Bayside Summers is a series of standalone steamy romance novels featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They’re fun, flirty, flawed, deeply emotional, always passionate, and easy to relate to.

Gavin is about to find out that Harper really does exist-and she’s going to knock his socks off! Find out for yourself in Bayside Romance!

When screenwriter Harper Garner got a shot at the big-time in LA, she celebrated her brave cross-country move with her first and only one-night stand-connecting so deeply with the sexy, brilliant man, she broke the number-one rule of one-night stands and left her phone number. Not hearing from him was only the first in a long line of hope-shattering, confidence-busting blows. Ten months later, Harper is done with men and done with LA. She pulls up her big-girl panties and heads home to Cape Cod to start over.

On the surface, interior designer Gavin Wheeler has it all: a successful business, a loving family, and a close-knit group of friends. But Gavin once endured a heartbreak so painful, he was sure he’d never feel anything for a woman again. A chance encounter at a music festival with a gorgeous, down-to-earth blonde proved him wrong, but when morning came, the woman who made him crave more was gone.

A serendipitous evening reunites Harper with her devastatingly delicious one-night stand, and the connection is just as intense as she remembered. Harper’s life is too unsettled for a relationship, but Gavin is determined to help her find her way, especially if it leads straight to his heart. Moonlight conversations lead to steamy kisses, and as romance blooms, it stirs a love too real to deny. But when Gavin’s past collides with the life they’re building, it has the power to ruin everything.

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the tour for Melissa Foster’s latest in her Bayside Summers series, Bayside Romance. Are you ready to fall in love with your next book boyfriend? Wait until you meet Gavin! After a one-night stand the previous summer, Gavin hasn’t been able to get Harper off his mind (except he thought she said her name was Parker). So he’s pleasantly surprised when he sees the girl his friends have been talking about return home and realizes that it’s his girl from last year. Harper has had a horrible year in L.A. trying to get a pilot that she wrote into production and has no interest in men after being lied to, but once Gavin starts trying to get her to see the strength and happiness she has within her, she’s unable to resist his charm and sweet demeanor. And the chemistry between these two is off the charts!

I honestly have no idea where to start with this review because only one word keeps scrolling through my brain: Gavin… Oh my goodness this character was just absolute, sexy, smart, funny perfection. Gavin, where have you been all of my life???

Anyway, Bayside Romance is a sexy, warm, funny, romantic second-chance story about Gavin and Harper that will tug at your heartstrings. From the moment Harper returns and they see one another, it’s obvious that they are meant to be. There were times I was afraid things were almost too perfect, but leave it to Melissa Foster to throw in an unexpected twist to get you all riled up worrying about the outcome of the characters. However, the beauty in these twists is that they help us relate to the characters even more because although they all seem wonderful, amazing, beautiful, creative, and so on – it serves as a reminder about how romance, real love, and relationships take hard work and a daily commitment in order to survive.

As typical, several familiar characters pop up in this one which is always a fun treat getting to check into the lives of those we’ve already grown to know and love! But even better was the introduction of Gavin’s amazing family, which I’m hoping to see more of in the future.

Bayside Romance certainly checked all the boxes making it an amazing romance. It’s full of themes involving falling in love, risking your heart, learning to trust again, and as always, the importance of friends and family in our lives. I loved this one from beginning to end and cannot wait to read more of this incredible series!

Bayside Fantasies (Bayside Summers #6)
Tegan Fine has never had a plan—life, business, or otherwise. But she’s always had goals—to laugh daily and to pay it forward as often as she is able, just like her favorite uncle always did. After inheriting her great-uncle’s amphitheater, Tegan makes a risky move to a charming small town on Cape Cod to carry on her uncle’s legacy and hopefully expand the business with her new friend, Harper. Unfortunately, those goals aren’t doing much to help her plan a business strategy for her new endeavor. With Harper counting on her and her uncle’s legacy at stake, she swears off all distractions, determined to succeed. If only she could stop bumping into a certain arrogant, witty, and excruciatingly hot businessman who tweaks her nerves and invades her every thought. Including her late-night fantasies.

Self-professed workaholic Jett Masters never slows down. He lives life with no attachments—except to his clients, to whom he gives his all. A reluctant trip to his hometown has him itching to shake the ghosts of his past and get back to spinning deals and adding to his investments. But when he comes face-to-face with a gorgeous, handsy woman who is quite possibly the snarkiest and most disorganized person he’s ever met, sparks fly, and his sharp mind stumbles. He doesn’t even know her name, but he can’t get her out of his mind.

A chance encounter turns into a wild, sexy night, and their chemistry is off the charts—even if their ideals, and their lives, are worlds apart. Neither Jett nor Tegan is looking for more. Becoming friends with benefits seems like the perfect solution. But when they are trapped together in torrential weather, they work side by side in the aftermath, and every passionate kiss deepens their connection. Secrets are shared, trust is built, and no promises dare be made. As their lives move on, lines begin to blur, hearts get hurt, and their true selves come into focus. Tegan and Jett are left wondering if they make the perfect storm, or if they’ve reached the end of their bayside fantasy.

Book Review: Meant to be Different (Meant to Be #2), by Amelia Foster

Meant to be Different (Meant to Be #2),

by Amelia Foster

Publication: Limitless Publishing; July 9, 2019

meant to be differentAbout the book:

As a teen, I had my life figured out: graduate and make my dream of being a bull riding champion a reality. That is right up until the goth girl transferred to my school. Georgia laid the snark on as thick as her eyeliner, but I saw through the toughened façade and fell for her. Hard.

She was willing to give up her own dream to follow me as I pursued my passion, but I couldn’t let her do that. So, I made the hardest decision of my life…and walked away.

It’s been twelve years since I left home without her and the all-grown-up Georgia is just as feisty and fiery as she was back then. It’s clear she has no intention of making redemption easy for me. Thankfully, I’m a patient man who knows what he wants. I’ve never stopped loving her, and I know she feels the same.

Back then I was a rhinestone cowboy, and she was a dark angel, complete opposites, yet we fell in love anyway. We weren’t meant to be like every other cookie-cutter couple, we were meant to be different.

**My Review**

Back in January I read and reviewed Amelia Foster’s debut novel, Meant to Be Kept, and just in case you have forgotten, I loved it! So, of course, I am crazy excited to bring you my review of the next installment in her Meant to Be series, Meant to Be Different. You don’t need to have read Meant to Be Kept in order to enjoy this one, but if you did, you will remember that Tanner’s major screw-up occurred while on the road with his rodeo/cowboy brother, Wyatt. This is Wyatt’s story. Told in dual POV’s between Wyatt and his high school love, Georgia, this is a beautiful story about an unexpected couple, an unexpected love story, and love that stands the tests of time.

After a life of fame as a rodeo star, Wyatt decides to retire and the only thing on his mind is to return home to Asheville (after 12 years) to start a rodeo training program and to see Georgia again, of course. Georgia and Wyatt met in high school when she moved to Asheville from Tampa and she was the unusual goth girl, whereas, Wyatt was the epitome of southern charm, cowboy, and gentlemen wrapped all up in a pretty package. But alas, he broke her heart. When Georgia first sees Wyatt again after the way he left, she is reluctant to trust him, but it doesn’t take long to realize that all of those old feelings never really went away.

Ladies, prepare yourselves for Wyatt Carlisle because, my goodness, this man is a charmer! He’s sweet, sexy, mannerly, and so on, but the thing that truly gripped my heart was that he was just that way naturally. There was no added flair, acting, etc. This character hat Amelia Foster created was just honestly that good of a person

Georgia (Gigi) was also an amazing character and believe when I say that this women had been through hell and back in the span of 12 or so years. Constantly battling whether to take care of her family or take care of herself, this woman still managed to maintain a fantastic sense of humor and I adored her for it.

Much like Foster’s debut novel, this one has a lot to do with forgiveness. Although the subject matter in Meant to Be Different is nothing like its predecessor, Meant to Be Kept, there is still the ongoing theme regarding forgiveness. Moreover, Foster clearly celebrates those unlikely or somewhat mismatched couples, which I loved! While growing up, Wyatt didn’t care about her dark eyeliner, fishnets, and Doc Martens and how they strongly contrasted with his cowboy boots and hat. This story is about finding your person, regardless of the package they may come in, loving them with every fiber of your soul, and learning to forgive and move on when one or the other screws up.

As I reflect on this novel, I can’t say that I truly adored it as much as Amelia Foster’s debut, however, this one was wonderful nonetheless. I realize that I shouldn’t compare the two because it’s not as if it were a sequel, so just as it is, it’s a highly recommended read. Especially for those who love second-chance romances, you will eat this one up.

Release blitz, review, & giveaway: All I Know (Paradise Beach #1), by Tamara Lush

Title: All I Know
Series: Paradise Beach #1
Author: Tamara Lush
Genre: Standalone Contemporary Romance

Release Date: June 12, 2019

From the author of Constant Craving comes a hilarious story about a woman who feels obligated to care for everyone, a sexy Marine who wants to make his first love his forever bride, and a fake wedding proposal that changes everything.
Kate Cooper has come home to Paradise Beach to help her mom recover from surgery. After all, who else is going to run the family’s tiki bar? A few months on a Florida island won’t hurt, even if her memories might.
Then Damien Hastings, her high school crush, walks into the bar one night. He’s stunning. Intense. Way more muscular than when they were in high school. And can’t take his eyes off Kate.
When Damien finds out Kate needs health insurance, he does what any gentleman would: ask her to marry him. He’s going to Syria for a year as a military contractor and has loved her for years. It’s the least he can do.
They didn’t return to fall in love. They didn’t expect to have the best sex of their lives.
They didn’t plan on a farting dog or a fake engagement.
But strange and wonderful things happen on Paradise Beach…

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the tour for All I Know, by Tamara Lush! This first installment in her Paradise Beach series introduces readers to Damien and Kate who had huge crushes on one another in high school and finally meet again after ten years. Damien has been in the military and Kate has moved back home to help her mother with running her local bar. Realizing that the sparks are still there between them, things quickly heat up between Kate and Damien. And when he learns that Kate needs but doesn’t have health insurance, he figures the best thing to do is get married.

This book was funny, sweet, romantic, and a quick read. I liked both main characters and could feel the chemistry between them as I read. I think I felt more emotion and connection with Damien’s character than with Kate’s, but I liked them both and enjoyed them together.

Oh, and the gassy dog was fantastic!

The confusing part about this book (series) really has nothing to do with this first book itself, but the description that each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone and they don’t have to be read in order. It looks like the second book is about Kate’s best friend, Lauren and Damien’s brother Max, but it starts when Lauren is first hearing about Kate getting married. I’m hoping that this doesn’t equate to a ton of repetition and am really hoping that we get more of Kate and Damien’s story. All I Know had a happy ending, but it wasn’t a definitive ending, so hopefully, the author has lots of surprises ahead for us!

I certainly recommend this one to lovers of second-chance romances with a unique twist. I think you will truly fall for Damien and will finish this one with excitement about the upcoming second book in the series!

Book Tour, Review, & Giveaway: Mad About Moon (The Whiskeys), by Melissa Foster

Wicked Whiskey Love: Sexy Standalone Romance by [Foster, Melissa]

Fall in love with Jed and Josie in this emotionally captivating, sexy standalone romance by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster.
The perfect love story for those who enjoy fiercely loyal and insanely sexy alpha heroes, smart, sassy heroines, strong family bonds, bikers, babies, and more!

Can true love strike twice in one lifetime?

Josie Beckley refuses to believe there is a limit on happiness. A decade after she escaped her abusive parents and lost touch with her siblings, the death of her husband leaves her and her son homeless. But Josie has never been one to wallow in sadness, and when she takes a chance on reconnecting with her siblings, a sinfully handsome bright light from her past shows up and offers to help her find a way out of the darkness.

Most people wouldn’t see Jed Moon as someone to look up to. He’s been in and out of jail and has lived a less-than-stellar lifestyle. But years ago one woman saw through his bullshit, and he’s never forgotten her. Now she’s back in his life, and as a prospect for the Dark Knights motorcycle club, Jed promises to keep an eye on the sassy, sexy single mother who has never stopped lighting his fantasies on fire.

Jed and Josie’s combustible connection is stronger than ever. Having Josie and her son in his life brings out all of Jed’s protective instincts-and visions of a future he never imagined having. But when a shocking revelation knocks the insatiable lovers to their knees, it forces them to make choices that could change their lives forever.

*My Review*

Welcome to my stop on the book tour for Melissa Foster’s latest in her Whiskey series, Mad About Moon. This perfectly titled romance is about Jed (Moon) and Josie, as well as, Josie’s young son, Hail. After growing up in an abusive household and being separated from her siblings, Josie finds herself living in a women’s shelter with her son after the death of her husband. Although her siblings have reached out to Josie, she hasn’t felt ready to reconnect with them. But when she shows up at her sister Sarah’s house on Christmas, Jed, a Dark Knights prospect, sees Josie and thinks she may be the girl that he hasn’t stopped thinking about for many years. When the Dark Knights voice concern about Josie, of course, Jed steps up to check on her, hoping it’s the same girl from the bonfire years ago.

I wonder if there is anyone that doesn’t absolutely love this series? The Whiskeys are absolutely the most loving, accepting, and wonderful group of people I’ve read about. Sweet and sexy Jed fits in with them perfectly. From the way he interacted with Josie and Hail, to his attempts to set a young man on a better path in life, to his devotion to the Dark Knights… All I can say is, yum….

Anyway, I absolutely adore second-chance romances and although they all met and spent one night together, neither had forgotten the other – making this reunion so much sweeter!

But then there is Josie… I do love her character and of course, I wanted her to get her HEA, but for some reason, I struggled to connect with her. She was a presence in Sarah and Bones’ book so she was familiar already, but even after reading this entire novel, I don’t feel as if I know her or that I can imagine her in my mind as well as other female characters in this series. Nevertheless, I still loved this book.

Melissa Foster has once again created a book with the perfect blend of sexy biker guys, conflict, achievements, romance, friendship, and family. Mad About Moon will absolutely make you fall head over heels over Jed, but more than that, Foster has given readers an unputdownable book that touches on every emotion while providing that fantasy romance mixed with real-life and relevant issues. I highly recommend this one but to truly understand and relate to Jed and Josie’s story, I suggest starting at the beginning of the series or at least starting with Wicked Whiskey Love about Bones and Sarah!

**My Review**

Welcome to my stop on the tour for L.P. Dover’s latest romance, Love Again! This incredible second-chance romance is about famous movie director Aubrey and her high school sweetheart, Cole. After leaving Cole to follow her dreams of becoming a director a month before their wedding, Aubrey went on to earn her fame and fortune that she and her mother had dreamed about. But when medical tests are confused and give Aubrey the scare of her life, she decides to make some changes. She starts with a bucket list of all the things she has wanted to do and places that she’s wanted to go, but soon finds herself back home and face to face with Cole.

Let me start by saying that after reading this I looked at some other reviews that had issues with there not being enough drama or conflict. Maybe I was just in need of a feel-good read, but I didn’t feel that way in the least. This is a happy book with a happy ending. Although Aubrey has loved her career, her health scare inspires her to do other things with her life other than working. Besides the enjoyment she got out of those things, it also brought her back to Cole. There were unresolved feelings, anger, and regret, but otherwise, this novel was just a wonderful and romantic trip down memory lane, reigniting a spark, and realizing the need and desire to balance one’s life.

I loved both main characters together and separately, each having a good amount of humor, intelligence, passion, and interest in a variety of things in life besides just each other. My only criticism at all, and it’s a minor thing, would be that the ending was almost too perfect. I don’t mean how things panned out between Aubrey and Cole, but some of her dreams that came true seemed unrealistic. Nevertheless, I am now a huge fan of L.P. Dover and cannot wait to read more from this author in the future. Fans of contemporary romance and especially second-chance romance should add Love, Again to their TBR.
