Mia MacTavish: single mom and hot mess extraordinaire, at your service.

My life is falling apart.
When the sh*t hits the fan, I have no choice but to do the one thing I swore I never would.
Move back home.

It’s been five long years since I set foot in Midland Springs. Not much has changed in the small town I once called home—like the things that drove me away in the first place. But it only takes me a few hours to find the one sexy, tattooed, and bearded change I can’t seem to resist.

Parker Lancaster: Cocky. Crass. In desperate need of someone to clean up my mess.

Mia MacTavish is prim, proper, and extremely off limits…
But I can’t keep my hands off of her.

I know I should stay away. She’s got a kid and no plans to stay in Midland. Even knowing who she is, I’d be a fool not to take the one night she offers. Then things get even more complicated when she comes back wanting more…

Can you really keep a secret in a small town?

Pit stop is a MF contemporary small town single mom workplace romance and the third book in the Midland Springs Romance series. This series is interconnected, but each book can be read as a standalone.

Contains adult language and sexual content

*My Review*

Welcome to my stop on the release blitz tour for Joanne Ganci’s Pit Stop! This is the 3rd novel in her Midland Springs series but don’t worry if you haven’t read the previous books. I have not yet read them, not knowing this was a series, and I pretty much plugged along just fine! Mia is returning home to Midland Springs after five years with her young son Alex. Moving into her late parents’ home and searching for a job, she doesn’t expect to meet Parker and have such instant chemistry. Parker is the owner of the auto repair shop that Mia pulls into one afternoon and he wants her immediately. The problem? He knows that he wants more than Mia wants to give, so he has to decide whether to explore things anyway.

What did I like about this novel? I loved the instant chemistry between Mia and Parker. I’m not usually a fan of “insta” situations, but they had fireworks from the beginning. I also liked that Parker was really a romantic deep-down and longing for a relationship, and I liked how Mia was a smart, sweet, devoted Mom without being too over-the-top protective of Alex. It seems like I’ve read so many books lately where single parents plan to stay single until the child is raised and left home which is completely unnecessary and ridiculous. Mia’s outlook and actions regarding her son, dating, etc. were healthy and appropriate.

What issues did I have with the novel? There were several times I struggled to connect with Mia because of her nonchalant and sometimes cold demeanor towards Parker. Moreover, the big conflict moment that sets Mia into a tailspin was ridiculous. So, every time I thought I was almost to the point of liking her character, she would do something else that was immature or selfish and I would be back to square one with her. Other than that, my only issue was trying to figure out what in the hell was going on with the secondary characters Racheal, Julian, James, and Zach. Eventually, I looked up the 1st book in this series, Their Book Nerd, and learned that it is a reverse harem/poly book so then I figured it out. But it was almost distracting at times from the perspective of someone who hasn’t read the series.

Pit Stop is a sexy and sweet contemporary romance and I promise you will fall in love with Parker immediately. There a plenty of alpha moments also blended with swoon-worthy romance and a few laughs along the way!

Excerpt:

“So, what’s it gonna be, Prim? You gonna let me take you out?” I step closer to her, leaving only a few inches between us. With those heels, we’re almost the same height, and it takes a lot of self-control not to just grab her waist and pull her into me. Leaning just a bit closer, I let my breath fan over her ear, watching as she shivers, before whispering, “Or we don’t have to go out at all…”

The gasp she lets out goes straight to my fuckin’ balls. When I lean back, her mouth is open in a little ‘o’, and I can’t help but picture those red lips wrapped around my cock. I don’t know why, but getting her on her knees in the fancy outfit she’s wearing… shit.

I know I come off as an asshole, but I really wouldn’t normally speak to a woman this way. There’s something about her that’s just so… enticing. I really can’t help myself.

She’s breathing heavily and staring at my dick again. I was already painfully hard, but the way she’s examining it… fuck. When I reach out to adjust myself, she lets out another little gasp. I don’t even think she realizes she’s doing it, which somehow makes it hotter. If she turns me down, it’s going to be a long night full of cold showers.

“Mia?”

When I say her name, she seems to snap out of it. Her gaze quickly darts back up to my face. “Wh-what?”

Smirking, I ask her, “Seriously, will you go out with me?”

“Wh-why would you want to do that?”

My brows twist in confusion. “What do you mean, why?”

She scrapes her teeth over her plump bottom lip as she averts her gaze. “Whether or not you think you were, you were ridiculously rude when I came in here. Now you’re asking me out? You don’t even know me. I just… I don’t get it.”

“Well, I’m pretty sure the point of going out is getting to know each other. You don’t know me either. If you got to know me, you’d know all of that was just my winning personality. I asked because I want to go out with you. Either you want to go out with me or you don’t.”

“I… I’m not looking to get into a relationship right now.”

“So option B? I’m down if you are,” I tell her, winking.

Author Bio

Joanne Ganci is a hopeless romantic that more than anything wants to bring joy to the world. Whether that be through the words on the pages of her books or a friendly gesture to a stranger.

She’s a bit quirky and rather anti-social, but through the characters that demand to have their stories told she is working on cracking out of her shell and emerging as a semi-dysfunctional pterodactyl. Bet you thought that was going to say butterfly. Nope, that’d be normal and Joanne is quite the opposite.

Fueled by the love of her family, she embarked on the journey as an author and somehow hasn’t panicked her way into quitting. Let’s hope she keeps the crazy tamped down and continues on her journey.
