My Review:

I can’t begin to tell you how amazing this new series is, bringing together the Braden and Montgomery families!!  Embracing Her Heart is the first in the series and involves Grace Montgomery and Reed Cross. Grace and Reed were secret high school sweethearts because of a harsh rivalry between their high schools. After graduation, Grace left for New York to chase her dreams of being a playwright and producer, while Reed eventually headed to Michigan where he obtained a degree and began a business in historical preservation/construction. Years later, Grace returns for a three-week visit with her family and quickly realizes that Reed has moved back to Oak Falls, as well as, replacing her family’s porch – and is still just as handsome as ever.

Grace is a well-developed character with a lot of depth, one that I could tell Melissa Foster took her time with, allowing her to realize all the ways that she has changed over the years and allowing her to figure out what to do with her revelations about herself. She is creative, driven, caring, but has also become a little burned out from her fast-paced world in New York theaters.

Reed was just – yum! He is smart, sexy, adorable, romantic, and polite. However, combined with all of his many perfections, he is struggling with demons of his own regarding his natural father that left him with his aunt and uncle as a child.

Embracing Her Heart has numerous secondary characters that are fabulous, especially Nana, whom we have met in other novels. Also, Grace has a ton of siblings (too many to list) and they are wonderfully unique in their own ways. Also, very close to my heart are the wonderful service dogs in the story that are trained by Grace’s mom. It was such a sweet surprise how much these dogs and what they represent were relevant in the story.

Fans of Melissa Foster will fall in love with this new novel and new series, and for some reason, if you haven’t already become addicted to her novels, this is the time to jump in. Embracing Her Heart is an outstanding novel encompassing romance, love, family, and the bonds within small town communities. There are several hilarious moments regarding nighttime traditions among Grace and her siblings, there are sexy moments, and suspenseful moments. This novel has it all and I can’t say enough how happy I am to be a part of this blog tour!
