Warning: If you are looking for a sweet, sensitive book with a happily ever after, this isn’t it. It is a totally inappropriate book about a completely dysfunctional family. The F word flies free along with many other curse words. Feel free to get drunk (because the Davenports sure are!) while you’re reading it, and prepare to wet yourself laughing. If sex scenes are not your thing, this book might not be your thing. But, if you have a crazy sense of humor and like raunchy comedies – you’re in the right place. My Review

Yes, I am back with a review of another of Shannyn Leah and Kelly Moore’s absolutely insanely odd, funny, and addictive novels in their Davenport series, F%#cking Screwed! Hopefully, you have seen my reviews of the first three installments so you will already be caught up on this family, but this time it’s Ford’s turn, and his novel is definitely a wild ride.

He’s been dealing with the “goon” in the basement, he’s overwhelmed with Daisy’s extra personalities, his mom is going to marry his uncle Cash (even though she’s into cowboy Troy), one of the adult film crew thinks there are spirits on the property, and they still aren’t sure if his little sister’s imaginary friend is indeed imaginary. And this is only what is recapped at the beginning of the novel! I’ve loved Ford’s character since the beginning of the series, but this time, the authors give us a closer peek into his brain, his stressors, his pressures, and his indecision. Ford is trying to protect his family from his grandfather Davenport and the shady business that his father was involved in, all while learning that he has, in fact, inherited ownership of the said shady business. He’s sick of his sweet girlfriend turning into Slutty Pepper and/or Tommy. His grandmother, Yaya, wants to learn how to work a stripper pole and sell drugs in a bar. Oh, and of course, he needs to deal with a body!

Basically, Ford is extremely overwhelmed and the plot of this series is insane, as shown through the amazing writing ability of Shannyn Leah and Kelly Moore. What stands out the most, however, is the creativity of this writing duo. Not sure where they get their inspiration for this series, how they think up these characters, or even better – how they combine it all into novels that are hilarious, wonderfully offensive, and have incredible plots! Yes, F%#cking Screwed is over the top as are the other novels in the series, but I couldn’t help to notice how this time there are even more plot twists and more suspense. I love how they keep building and building on this, making me wonder what will happen next, who will have sex with who, who will get arrested, and so on.

As stated above, this is not a series for the light-hearted and Ford’s book is no exception. However, this is the perfect escape from everyday life when you want to laugh, repeatedly have your jaw drop open because you can’t believe what you’ve read, and when you want a fun and suspenseful novel. I cannot wait until the next one!
